I really like the composition and the colours, but I don't feel this idea is very 'spectacular. If it's about a spectacular garden then I think you should remove the girl because it is she that I am drawn too not the garden.

must concurr... I feel that it's missing...something to give it that extra edge into spectacularness than what it is now... not that it isn't a nice composition and such...I am just not sure if it embodies the essence of the compitition if you know what I mean... keep working though...I think you can do it!!

Love your sketches, you have a nice and confident line! And apperantly you work magic with colors aswell! :) I'll keep watching this!

Only comment I have is that if you want to show the spectacular garden, perhaps you should try a lesser scale on the woman? Kinda like she's looking up at the garden, and then it grows all around to the top.. perhaps with some sunbeams striking down? Just what I think might help make it more "spectacular", the garden isn't quite showing it atm.

Probably my idea not such Spectacular, but I think that work can become fascinating only when it is finished. I have named work "Spectacular Garden" probably these are improper the name. But I shall finish this work and I shall try to make its interesting.

Beautiful job so far, the colour palette is very soothing.

it is a beatiful pic but its more like a portrait, when I'm thinking spectacular it's whole scene at the best angle of view as possible, it's still great but iI think it's need some depth

well i have to say the image it self is really well done. i have a few crits for you though.

the figure right now seems to stand out of the image too much, she doesnt fit in witht he color or the detail lvl of the image. you can try to blur some parts of her dress... or tighten up the background to the same level of clearity. the purple should have bounce light and should be less vibrant as it is now, most of the image is warm yellows and ornages and that would make for a not purple but a warmer color on the dress's ribbons. try maybe to hint some sky preicing through the leaves it would help define the forest garden she seems to be in and would make more sence since you obviously want light to penatrate the vegitation that is surrounding the main figure. also try to introduce some shadows into the image form objects that might not nessarily be in the rendered in the image. would give a sence of depth and would add another level of interest.

хорошая детализация, хорошая техника, но её черты лица не очень приятны, она пока что не красивая.Мне не очень нравится рот, а особенно глаза и нос. Очень хорошо читается выражение лица - оно целеустремлённое и несколько жёсткое. Не знаю на сколько это уместно здесь.

Good detailed elaboration, good technics, but its features are not so pleasant, it meanwhile not beautiful. I not so like a mouth, and especially eyes and a nose. The look - it purposeful and a little bit rigid is very well shown. I do not know on how many it pertinently here.

Sorry to comment so late but here are my thoughts:

I feel that her clothing should be more simple so that you are not distracted from the garden. I also think perhaps a younger girl would have been more suited here as she would have been more in awe of the garden.

Thanks Enialadam, I in the end shall describe the ideas. I think that this girl having got this garden, became a part of him... A flower supplementing this garden. She is fascinated with this garden, and the garden is fascinated with the girl. Age of the character I think values has no... As she is one of the main characters that what she would not be, she will draw attention..

Also I think if the character will be less growth, I think an environment will press on the character... )

Hi Nikolay! The very good the pattern of the dress! The garden and its details look impressive! I have advice. I think you should try to add smooth, pink light instead of the shade which is behind the girl. This light must push through branches. In my view, the pleat on the skirt is formed wrong. It is too big and too sharp, need to soften it. And one more. Pay attention to the girl's bust. There are too direct highlights there. It seems to me that it is necessary to do highlights in accordance with the breast's form. I wish you good luck! :)

You may need to cast shadows on to the woman with light coming through those branches that way and you may want to have have some extreme lights to darks to help highten the mood. Look up Maxfield Parrish. Your work is reminds me of his, my though on it, good painting overall!:thumbsup:

I think this is the first time I've visited your thread Nikolay, and good job I didn't earlier. I had an idea of doing a spectacular dress as an alternative to the idea I'm doing now, but you've done it! Great stuff! I agree that there is a need for some shadow in certain areas. Some things need to be pulled back and others brought forward. At the moment my eye doesn't know where to go because you've got so much fantastic detail. I don't know whether you do this, and if I'm being cheeky, sorry, but copy the whole image onto seperate top layer and put the layer option to multiply at about 60%, and then erase areas you feel you want less shadow on. From this you can get an idea of where you'd like the darker areas to be. You can then fiddle with the opacity as much as you want... :)

If I could. would declare you the "WINNER!" But, in all fairness, haven't viewed all of the other entries. Putting that aside "Your painting talent is just plain awesome.... !!
Your Princess Lady's face is so lovely, luscious lips, a strong nose & a hint of freckles...what a combination. But the paintings of her dress is what fascinated me, the most... was puzzled as to how you managed, the design work inside those fabulous folds, in the second picture showing her dress...? {Post #26} The lace work on her collar is breathtakingly detailed...so many, many brush strokes. Would love to be able to view the total painting at it's original size. Appreciated the close ups, you posted, as so much detail is lost when viewing the whole painting. You were so gracious to all that offered criticism, constructive or otherwise...

very nice. The only thing that bothers me is, that no natural light is white. So I suggest u to worm this pic a bit with some slightly yellow color. Im talking about sunrays which dont work so well as the rest of the piece. Other than that, great pic.

As for tips: the part around the mouth looks flat- the muscles in that area would provoque a bit more of 'molding' with the light. And have you tried darkening the background part where the castle is a bit? try out purplish tones to see if you like it!

Yup, a nice subtle yellowish light would do it. So i do agree with Blaz on that.
Man, that dress of hers looks lovely. Great job on that and on the details. The only suggestions i can give you is to maybe push the depth more. Darken the back a little bit more to give it a nice contrast with your main character.

What can be spectacular. I think that it is positive feelings, events
which do not bring harm to the person. I think the mankind yet has not
invented anything more fascinating, what the nature can show to us.

I have tried to show it, by representing a magic apple garden. The
garden is made by the person, but for a long time thrown.. and the
nature has all the same made all at own discretion, she lives the own
life. This garden is other world, and the temple on a background is
the world of the person. I have drawn the girl which have found this
garden, the girl because I think, that the woman in the essence is
closer to the nature. The girl and a garden it as though a symbol of
unity of the person with the nature.. They are such different, but
together they are perfect. The nature can make without us perfect
things but if we shall not touch it, then the nature will make us more
fine. Therefore I have tried to draw the perfect girl. She became a
part of this garden.
She has found a spectacular apple garden and with her the garden
became even more spectacular.
