View Full Version : Time Display: Changing "Minutes,Seconds" to "Frames"

i have a problem with pretty much every temporal field in after effects. every box where i would normally input a frame number is displaying the time in minutes, seconds, msecs format instead of just the frame number. there must be a global switch somewhere in the preferences that switches those fields to display time as the frame number, but i can't find it.

for example, suppose i wanted to jump to frame 100. i divided 100 by my composition frame number (24 for example) and found out that frame 100 is actually 4 seconds 5 milliseconds (base 30), so i had to write 4:05

it's an awful method and inaccurate when you have to round, there must be a way to insert frame numbers instead of timecodes.

thanks for your help!

Try CTRL+Click on the time indicator (in the timeline or preview monitor). It will toggle through various display modes with each click.
