ok guys here is my concept .. it may sound a little stupid :)
i will make a city that consist of multi blocks .. each block is supported in the sky by 4 mechanical stand .... and the blocks will vary in elevation according to the stand hieght ... i may add the following > the city will be under attack and one the big high stand will be destroyed and i will take the shot when on of the higher block of the city is falling upon the the lower one ...

Rotab3D
09-09-2005, 07:03 PM
thanx guys for ur kind words about the mechanical model ....it is still at the begging and i will post further screen shots tomorow with more details and new parts .... i guess the city blocks will be after i finish the stands ....
good luck all :)

ok guys i guess my concept is getting more obvious than be4 .... here 3 different city blocks with different elevation according to the height of the mechanical stands that support it ... i will NOT use greeble for the city blocks buildings ... i will model each one individually ... the greeble here r for demonestration only .....
i would like to thank all the artists that supported me with their great sweet words and comments .... good luck for u all and i wish u the best ...

ChristianHammer
09-15-2005, 06:06 PM
Those legs have an INCREDIBLE amount of detail... Thes sense of the city is almost non-existant though because of the scale of the lges as compared to that of the buildings. I am sure when it is textured that will come through better...

I really like the concept, it is very unique and creative. And I am a huge sucker for detailed models. So keep up the good work!

WoW man u rules ...
I like the idea ,the modeling all of it is great...
about the size of the city I think it need to be bigger than that... but I think it will need alot of details too ...

as an egyption I am very proud of u man ...

Rotab3D
09-17-2005, 11:18 AM
Gus_clifton .... thankx man ... the details in the city would be something hard .. acually the scene is so heavy and the vray renderer always get me error msg when i tried to render the 3 greeble blocks with the 12 stands ... so i had to separate them and use layers ... donno where i am going with this till now ..... beside iam working on a none certified pc ( 3.0 GHz with 1 GB RAM only ) ... max view ports moves slowly like hell even in the Box Mode ....

i guess i will start modeling the city these days but i will take a break after to learn some texturing tutorails and so which iam totally newbie in ...

fighter4d : thanx so much :)

Cities in motion.
I'm architect and I think is like a dream, hehehe.

I subscribe from your thread.

Advices: Setting v-ray in photon map, is very quickly.
Check your geometry and polygons, collapse some that.
The legs base must be bigger.

I waiting the cities modeling. the flat base of the cities are not good, anyway, do you fix this , donīt you?

Supercool cities, if a hurricane comes near, they'd just wander off for some days :)
reminds me of the pyramids and the digging machines of matrix. Maybe they could also have a mechanism that drops off the rest of the destroyed leg and moves one of the remaining legs to the position where the distance to the other two legs is equal.
Hehe, that would mean a heave earthquake for the habitants of the city anyway but at least not the entire distruction of one or even two such cities.
