Imagine a tsunami as high as 500-900 meters flooding over cities like New York or Boston. That's what a BBC TV special once claimed possible--or more than possible: it's just a matter of time they claimed. Reportedly scientists call it "Mega-tsunami." I figured that would definitely look spectacular--though terrifying.

The modeling method is pretty amazing to say the least and your texturing seems impressive as well. The one thing that kind of hinders the image is the lighting. I think with better lighting, this image could look amazing. One other thing is the hill, it looks really out of place. Other than that, good job so far. Best of luck mate

Post-effects added. I noticed unnaturally bright roofs in the render. I think I can fix it by adjusting the specularity setting of the texture.

Lower part of the updated rendering. And looking at the scene, I've been thinking, 'Should I add little people in the streets or on the roofs of the building? Considering the scale of the whole scene, would they look like unidentifiable little dots any way?"
I would appreciate your comments.

Decided to change the bridges and add peoples in the streets (they look like little dots though in a 2657v=x3636 rendering.)

Simple textures for the pedestrians. They weren't really identifiable in a 2657x3636 render. So I've tried to make a 2567x2x3636x2 rendering which seemed to lock the computer for eternity. so I gave up trying eventually.

It's about 5 o'clock in the afternoon. And you're almost ready to leave your office on the 85th floor of your building. Suddenly, you hear someone in your office cry out, “Oh, my God! Look out the window!” You can’t believe your eyes: in stead of the calm Atlantic down below your windows, you see a huge body of water coming toward you, engulfing other towers that you knew to be more than 90 stories tall. You wonder, ‘How could this be happening? Is my city sinking? Is this just another bad dream?’

It may not be one according to a BBC TV documentary aired some years ago. Scientists claim such a tsunami has happened and can happen again. Back in 1958, a tsunami half a kilometer high struck a remote bay in Alaska, they say. They named it “Mega-tsunami”, a tsunami that can be taller than any skyscraper on earth. And they suspect that “any time in the next few thousand years,” a mega-tsunami “far bigger than anything ever witnessed in modern times … will surge across the entire Atlantic in a matter of hours, engulfing the whole US east coast, sweeping away everything in its path up to 20km inland.” Would it look spectacular? Yes, it may be—but too tragic to enjoy.

The image was modeled and rendered in Blender. For its textures and effects, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and Gimp was used.
