Ok lets get 'dis pahtay stawww-ted!!!! First idea here, thought it would be cool to have some sort of insignificant ruins unearhed in the mountains in Peru or a Mayan ruin in the jungle maybe and then in the future with bigger tools, ships, and technology we unearth a more ancient great city underneath it buried deep beneath, an entire hige city that was thought to be a mountain but was actually covering a great city, covered by some catastrophic event....brainstorming......

Neat idea man. Cities within cities within mountains... Cool concept. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks ahbeejieh.

I like the initial idea of it, but still brainstorming. Rather than an amazing visual which willl be a part of it, I want some sort of event to be happening as part of it too. This shot seems a little boring in that regard, you feel separated, overlooking the action quietly from afar........

Yep. I agree that you need to develop the story in this concept of yours. We got time, so you'll get there man, keep at it. Hey, isnt the Alien VS. Predator movie somewhat reminiscent of your concept? There's like this great Mayan architecture in the middle of the Arctic, and beneath that is the Awesome training grounds for the Predators right? You might be able to get some ideas from that movie.

ahbeejieh - holy crap! Youre right! DAMN!! That's WAY too similar. Oh well glad you thought of that now while its still early. Definitely wanna stay away from that. I could get ideas from it but it would probly just end up being too similar in the end and I don't want that. Oh well, no biggie. Still barely started thinking of stuff so I'll have plenty more ideas most likely ending up in a way faroff place from this initial idea, heheh.

Another idea here. All the doomsayers of science and religion pretty much all say the end of the world will come some day. Well if humanity is alive we'll have to evacuate, so I pictured giant transport ships evacuating as many human beings as possible at the last minute. Just a giant procession of people loadingonto giant ships.

It's cool looking so far. :)
I would try to add more people or show somehow there's a reason to evacuate, it looks too peaceful and calm right now.
Best of luck!

Nothin' wrong with being kinda the-same with another idea man. You can develop it and point it towards another direction, but your choice. The city within a city idea's really cool, and unique from everyone else's so far.

How about the guys, who are evacuating, are part of some religious group and they're using these huge ships to escape their forseen doomsday? You know, science coming together with religion stuff, to create some kind of contrast in the story. Got that from the way you posted your description for that concept. Keep it up!

Heres another sketch along the same lines as my last. I like the angle much better with this, shows more of the scale and mass numbers of people like I wanted. I really like the layout of this one and will probly go forward with this one. But please let me know your thoughts about it as well as Im all ears! :-)

Ok here's some test renders of the last concept sketch. It's still gonna be 2D, done in Painter but Im not amazing at color and lighting so Im using some real life sky reference as well as some real simple 3D models I threw together to help with some of the lighting and perspective. Plus it helped the ships taking off lok much better than the sketch. So these I tried the same render with different colors and styles of sky, different atmosphere and time of day. #1 I love but the colors compete witht he ships too much with all the reds I think. But fitting chaos in the sky for the event taking place, and evacuation of earth..........#2 and #3 are ok, but I really lilke #4 and will probly go with that color scheme. But Im open to hearing what you all think as well.
