bluestreak 11-06-2002, 11:35 AM hi all,
hope this isn't too simple of a question...i was just at highend3d
and noticed all the extra goodies for Maya...
just wondering what's the diff between a MEL script and plugin?
thanks in advance

Ummm, well what's the difference between MEL and C++? plug-ins give you a lot more control, you can make your own MEL commands, you can use OpenGL to draw stuff, you can make your own shapes/shaders/deformers etc. plug-ins are about 10 times faster than MEL. Look in the docs and read through the API manual and the introduction to MEL...which scares you less?
