How would I go about placing two or more shape nodes under 1 transform node? I want to do this so the animation control is easier to select. From another post I found they used the parent -add -s; mel command, however I could not get it to work.
I selected the shape node of one, the transform of the other, and ran the command. Now the shape is under the transform but it only moves the shape node that was already under it, while the one i just parented does not move...and if I delete the transform node from the one I used to parent from, it also makes the one that is under the one I parented to disappear. One other thing I noticed is that I could not freeze transforms on the group or it would give me an error. (Warning: Cannot freeze below transform nurbsCircle2 due to multiply-instanced child nurbsCircleShape1)
Am I doing something wrong? I have seen this done before and want to get it to work. I have maya 7 if that matters...
EDIT: I found out that parent -r -s works fine.
