View Full Version : Ungry butler
sergicaballer 09-06-2005, 07:34 PM Hi everyone,
this is my first thread at cgtalk. I´m working on this ungry butler for my reel. I have only modeled a bust because I want to focus on facial modeling and expresions.
I´m currently working on BlendShapes to complet the set of possibles expresions.
All coments/critcs are welcome.

nice work! Only the "fontal" renders give me a strange feeling - perhaps, because the head is absolut symmetrical.

Hi everyone,
I have been working with skin shader to practice a bit with mentalray SSS material from maya. No color and specular yet, only bump map test. All coments/crits are wellcome!

Nice work. I love the face shapes and the skin shader is looking really good, maybeneeds a but more red in the sub-dermal layer ( I think thats the right way to say it)

Excellent work on the face - the style is spot on! Youve done a great job at conveying emotion through those poses just from the tilt of the head or the raise of a brow.
Looking forward to seeing those maps. The bump map looks good, but i think the basic plain skin areas look a bit spotty and pockmarked, especially on his cheeks and chin.

Thanks for all you coments!!!. Actually I'm working another time with modeling to adjusts some aspects I didn't like it very much, included some facial blendShapes. Bump map isn't definitive because first, I want practice a bit with zBrush to add more flaccidity to model.
Sorry for my poor english.

Hello! now which I have a little but time, I am dedicating myself to improve those aspects that in their day were single to get out of trouble. One of them was the interior of the mouth, which I make each tooth separately in nurbs that soon inlaid in the mesh of the encia. Now I have reframed model 100% poligonos, because sensation of teeth that leave the encia is far better. To see that it seems to you.

One forgot to me to say that before giving by finished the interior of the mouth, I would like to add a little disorder in the alignment of the teeth so that it seems more natural.:)

Thanks for all coments! Before to start with texturing model I have decided to refine a bit the model and BlendShapes and add some more. For the texturing process, first I will experiment with zBrush. At the same time I have trying to understand the SSS from MentalRay and his native shaders. I have problems to conect SSS with other shaders and channels...
Sorry for my poor english:shrug:

Hi, today I've been working on skin shader. I don't have color map yet and bump map isn't definitive because before I want practice a bit with zbrush.

To do my skin shader I have used a procedural texture (solidFractal with inflection on) to trying to simulate veins under the skin. The problem is thai if I use maya's software to render the procedural texture works ok, but if I use mentalRay the procedural map don't work well. Only if I turn off the inflection the map works ok.
Can you help me please?

Dude this is great looking character. When I first saw the look of him, he could easily be a snobby kind of character.

I have been trying to learn zBrush to make the displacement map for my model. This is the actual state of the map.
