So here's what I'm thinking:
I want to do something spectacular in a more "oh...my...god..." vein than a "WHOA! LOOKIT THAT!" variety. I've always been fascinated with Europa, the moon of Jupiter that is covered in ice. Some scientists hypothesize that there may still be a liquid ocean beneath the thick, thick ice and that it may harbor some form of life. Reading this as a kid really jump-started my imagination. What if there were life on Europa, and what if it were more than simply microbial?

The scene I have in mind is a probe (manned or unmanned, I haven't decided), after finally having made it through the ice and into the ocean, turns on the lights and discovers an immensely large sea-creature staring straight back at it.

Hashing out the design for the deep-sea critter. I think it may look too friendly, but the harsh lighting may straighten that out. Gotta work on the design for the submersible.

Nice. I wouldn't worry if the critter is friendly or not. Just the fact that there ARE other critters in this solar system would be enough. Keep working with it!

Sea creatures are the shizzle!

I like your concept alot and your current sketch for the creature is looking good. Will you be doing any additional sketches of the creature from different angles?
