Hi all,

This is an animation of a jump I've done with an alien rig: http://www.kentheman.com/jump1.zip.

Please let me know if the jump looks convincing? Thanks, I'd appreciate any feedback or advice on this. :)

Looks like a good start, the first thing i noticed is that it almost looks like he is taking off from his heels insted of his toes. Also the arch of his back is good as he squats be doesnt look right on the way up, maybe try it arched back sooner. Maybe change the position of his left hand on the reach on the way up, making it go back alittle more before he takes off. Also the positions of his legs looks off on the launch, they are infront of him and might look better behind him. The landing is awsome and there is nothing there that doesnt look nearly perfect. Keep us updated looks good.

The take off looks much better now. And the ari time is excellent as well. The only thing that pops out to me right now is that the landing is really hard, he goes from one frame both feet above the ground a foot or so to the next frame completely hunched over in the landing. There needs to atleast one or two more frames in there to smooth the landing out. The speed of the recovering bob up and down after the landing is good, but he comes down too hard i think. The movement of the fruit is good but might be a little too fast on it's last wobble. The movement on the "thing" on his head is really great and adds alot to the animation. Keep up the good work.

It dosn't look right still. The weight still feels off to me.

KBCamino: Yup, I agree that the landing's too hard, I'll work more on that and the fruit too.

grundelboy: Hmm, at which point specifically that you feel the weight is a bit off? Is it at the instance he landed etc? I'd appreciate if you could elaborate more, thanks.

Thanks for your comments and crits guys, I'll work on it more and post an update soon. Mean while please feel free to post more comments and crits if you notice any thing new you may like to bring my attention to, thanks, really appreciate that!

Hi guys,

Some people have mentioned that the coming down part is too slowed. I've corrected that since. Pless see if it's better now.

Nothing is realy jumping out at me (forgive the pun). Looks great and has come a along way. Maybe at the beginning when he starst to raise his hand, have the rest of his body move as well, for that first fraction of a second the onlything in motion is his hand and then everything else kicks in. Other than that looks really good.
