I'm trying to figure out how the gaussian blur works, so far I've just managed to use the Box blur and nothing seems to happen when I turn it to Gaussian blur, can someone help me on this one please.

cheers

Are we refering to the 3D depth of field filter.... I've tried using it with the box blur and gaussian blur and they work fine....

What kind of file are you applying this filter to? RLA/RPF?

hi

i've the same problems with C2 and rpf

it's ok with box blur but not with gaussian blur :(

I've tryed both files, RLA & RPF, none seems to work, when I change from Box to Gaussian there is no blur effect at all. i wonder if that may have anything to do with the exporting settings from Max, but I would guess that it would just need the Z-buffer...
cheers

well

for box blur, you need only z buffer

but with gaussien blur
more parameter are need
look in the help, i've not in memory

sorry for my english

I've just played with an RPF file, you need a z-buffer channel.

I applied the 3D post filter to the image and applied a box blur which was fine... took 1 sec to process.....

I switched to Gaussian Blur and waited..... It took about 10-15 seconds but it worked... just be patient I guess

well

for gaussien blur you select for rpf option :

Z Depth
Non-clamped Color
Coverage
Color
Transparency
Sub-pixel Weight
