I used particletarget to place splines all over it. Then I used ranomize to ratate and place em little diffrently. Then i connected them and extruded along Y. The texture is a simply handpainted

I'd love it if you cleared something up about the trees...did you create one tree and use that as your particle in particle target, or is each tree made with particle target? It must've been some kind of render time either way!
This is a nice image. I only wonder whether the smoke wouldn't be going a little more vertical, or in a more disorderly fashion, as the motion now is downwards as well as forwards and the coal is probably all mixed up in the burner. But perhaps you worked from an image of some kind and I'm on the wrong train myself.
Okay, just thought of something else...the momentum of the train's motion might make more than a small section of the railing to be crumpled, as successive cars attached to the engine each smash out more and more of it, since their momentum will carry them past the point where the initial derailment happened for a few yards or so. Also, the engine itself, having hit some kind of kerb before it began its plunge would probably have been 'tripped,' rolled on its side before it broke the rail, and so basically caused to pitch more. IOW it might not go down as straight as you have it. Also, not to be picky on such a nice scene, at such a height the shadow on the snow below would be more diffused.
But man, what a fine engine that is. It's a shame Casey Jones is gonna have a such a headache within a nanosecond.
