Guys / Gals,

I know there are other similar threads where you can post a picture of yourself or your computer setup, but I thought it might be fun if we started one here, just for the Anatomy forum. :)

So...if you like (you don't have to) post a picture of yourself, and / or your workstation / art (work) space here. :)

Please keep photos to 700 pixel width x appropriate pixel height.

Also, feel free to tell us something about yourself ~ your interests, favorite things, favorite music, hobbies, favorite places, background and training, etc.

Thanks, and look forward to your posts! :)

LET'S KEEP THIS A MINIMUM SPAM AREA Please. :)

EDIT: Erm...what was I thinking? :scream:

(You can see a picture of me here (http://workshops.cgsociety.org/courses/000008/)).

Cheers,

~Rebecca

1: (LEFT) MY PARENTS WITH ME : SAN FERNANDO, CA
First memories: Mountains in background became my playground.
Had to drag me out of them at end of each day.
Wildness in those mountains and in me.

Ready for life! Notice fists doubled up.
Prepared for whatever comes my way.

MORE SPIRIT IN HIM THAN IS IN MOST PEOPLE I KNOW.

MRS SPIRIT DREAMER and MR SPIRIT DREAMER

AFTER A LONG JOURNEY WITH A WHOLE LOT OF MOUNTAINS CROSSED,
I'M FINALLY SETTLING DOWN TO PAINT WHAT IS IN MY HEART.
MY GOAL IS TO LEAVE BEHIND SOMETHING THAT SPEAKS HONESTLY ABOUT
WHAT LIFE WAS ABOUT AS SEEN THROUGH MY EYES.

THIS PICTURE IS SYMBOLIC OF ME HAVING LIFE BY ITS TAIL,
IF ONLY MOMENTARILY.
IT'S READY TO BITE ME IF I GIVE IT THE CHANCE.
IF I KEEP IT OUT OF THE WATER TOO LONG, IT WILL DIE.
SO IN THE END, I GIVE IT BACK ITS FREEDOM
AND TURN IT LOOSE.
THAT IS THE STORY OF LIFE AS I SEE IT.

I thought it was really great to see these few pictures of fellow posters that I respect very much.

So, anyways, this is my desk setup:
Mac G4 Dual 1.25Ghz with 2 gigs of Ram
12 x 18 inch Wacom
Apple 23" Cinema Display and Viewsonic 17" CRT

http://homepage.mac.com/kanefamily/.Pictures/Photos%201/desk_setup.jpg

This is my son, Logan back this April. He is the center of my world.
http://homepage.mac.com/kanefamily/.Pictures/Photos%201/logan.jpg

This is my wife and I back in June. The other center of my world.
http://homepage.mac.com/kanefamily/.Pictures/Photos%201/dawn_and_i.jpg

And this is me. I spent the last year trying to get my butt back in shape after a long time eating bad and not exercising. I know it may seem weird to show these but I spend most of my time these days helping others get themselves back in shape, so this is probably the picture that represents who I am the best at this moment in time (plus, where better than an anatomy forum to post these.) Art isn't my profession right now but I am working towards it. I hope some day to make it.

Kyle,

ROFL, these pictures are great! Dawn looks amazing, it's so funny, we're 'adults' now, so the image of Dawn that I have is of a college kid, so it's neat to see how she looks now. Don't take this the wrong way, but you look pretty much exactly the same, lol! And the 'super buff' pictures are fair game for the OFDWs, so beware! :scream: And, of course, you and Dawn did a fantastic job in producing such an adorable kid! I hope to get to meet him one day. :)

LOL, I remember thinking how you and Dawn looked like brother and sister! Your kid looks exactly like both of you! :)

Anyway, it's great to see these, and thanks for being #3 to post here! I hope to see more pics (I'm a sucker for photographs), so thanks! :)

Cheers! :)

Hey Paperclip, hehehe, well I did post the pictures so I guess that means people can do what they will with them :hmm: :hmm: I could be in trouble here. :scream: A bunch of artists with a half nude picture of me. O.K. everyone, be nice.

Hi rebecca, Yeah, Dawn has changed alot. She is an avid weightlifter now and is pretty buff herself when she chooses to show it off. She does some personal training as well now and she is great at it. I can barely keep up with her (or Logan for that matter.)

Thanks for the comment on my little boy, he is such as sweet kid. We just took a break from playing "hide and seek." Everytime he finds me he bursts out in a fit of laughter. He's got one of those laughs that make you feel all warm inside. You can't help but smile when he does.

Llynna, that is some great hair you've got, always liked red. Keep us up to date on your schooling. As far as workouts, I only have 3 words: Body for LIFE. Check it out.

actually my hair is not this read, thats from the flashlight. its more auburn. but i was a blockhead and dyed it black..... now i have the problem of finding the right kind of dye to change them back to the original tone.

your kiddo looks really sweet :) looks like a really cheerful boy.

thanks for the tip, but i think i will stay with skating and some minor work out^^. never wanted to look like a bodybuilder. oh, that isnt meant offensive at all :)

Llynna, No offense taken in anyway. Actually, my wife was a national level figure skater for most of her young years. She has skated with Michelle Kwon and Sasha Cohen (sorry if spelled wrong.) You just have to do what you love to do, the rest will come. :) :) :)

Here goes....

http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/8317/mikesgfliang0mr.jpg

The pretty girl reclining on the sofa is my girlfriend Liang. This was taken during a recent photoshoot in Xi'an, PR China. The fool mucking up this shot (inset) is my goofy mug. This is my most recent "formal" photograph, taken 2 years ago while in Hong Kong (for a mainland visa application.) Since then I have gone bald, lost teeth, hearing in one ear, gained weight... <just kiddin' - about some of these claims...lol.>

Workspace and computer to follow... <see excuse above>

Mike,

Good lord, however did you bribe this woman into dating you? :scream: Liang is certainly beautiful, and you had better be nice to her and give her things, lol! :scream:

You know, it's funny, because I had seen one other picture of you on the Bonanza thread, and this picture looks completely different, and totally different from the image I had of you, lol! I think the other picture was fuzzy (and fezzy) :) so you know which one I'm referring to. :)

Is Liang a model? Would she want to pose for us (clothed, of course, lol!) for the OFDW? I would really like to have clothed models as well, and Liang seems perfect for this...particularly if we could get shots which are 300 dpi so that those who wish to print the photos can do so. I understand completely if she does not want to do so, but it can't hurt to ask. :)

Thanks for posting these, Mike! I now have a clear image of he who heckles me regularly, lol! :scream:

Cheers! :)

Liang isn't a full time model, she's actually a BA (Hons) Accounting student here in the U.K. She had this shoot done for a present off her parents, but has since been offered modelling work - as she is also fairly tall at 5' 10"

I'm sure she will be fine to do clothed stuff, but I will ask her when she lands back in the U.K. on Wednesday to make sure. These images are high res - That image was native @ 5.32MB, (one sloooowwwww download - even for broadband. :D )

Those photos in Morocco are a more accurate reflection of me... (balding, unshaved for days, looking generally rough and with a squint! LOL!) :scream:

Mike,

Can't you at least tell me she has one leg??? :scream: Smart, and beautiful? *shakes fist at sky* ~No, I'm totally kidding, I think it's great, and I'm sure you will make one great indentured servant, I mean, companion for Liang for a long time! :scream:

Totally kidding you! :) Thanks for asking her, and hopefully we'll get a yes. :) Also, I think it might be cool if maybe for one of the workshops, we did just head drawings / paintings, perhaps different CGTalk members or their significant others could volunteer? What do you think? :)

EDIT: How cool, geez, how much of the world have you seen, man!? :scream: Me, the last trip I took was to take out my trash...ROFL...

This is (to the best of my knowledge) the most embarrassing photo of me currently in existence - <<If Andy can trump this I will be stunned!!>>

*I do not condone underage drinking in any form* It is not big, or clever - and its after effects leave you open for humiliating photographs like this:

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/3442/ohmygod3kx.jpg

This was taken as I lay slumped unconcious after my first binge drinking session aged 16. I had previously been out in the garden of the house to projectile vomit over the herbaceous border! (Explaining the muddy white socks and pants.) LOL!

How did the boy (pictured only years earlier, right) become a foolish idiot at such a young age?

Hee thanks everyone, glad you like the workspace, my mum's allways complaining about how messy the room gets, but I can't help it, I need comfort!

Andyonahill: hehe, I went to st ives recently and visited her 'workspace' it was really interesting. I really loved seeing her sculptures.
You have a very cool workspace there, everything you need, a computer, music and a television :D Beautiful view too, I'll have to post my view. Oh, and what a gorgeous kitty you have :)

Lynna: Thanks :D It's the perfect spot to hang all day, I found myself doing that a lot during the summer holidays.

Ok, I m posting my workspace/bedroom... Fortunately you wont see it as a bedroom as I took the mattress out of the room... It s just too small for a bed, but none-the-less it is very very comfy and sweet (living with parents can be a pain, but with gain, no fees, free food :D)

This is where I spend most of my time, and it aint this clean and tidy, sorry guys, I couldn't show the big mess ... actually I won't apologize, I rather show it all neat hehehehehe.

Image no1 - my desk (a very small one), laptop (not a very powerful one, but I m getting an 80 gig hard drive for it this week), Wacom, sketchbooks, all kinds of drawing tools (pencils, charcoal, pastels, prushes etc), against the wall there s an easel, empty canvas (I wish I knew how to paint :P), a huge bundle of wires. Under the table there is a HP scanner/printer/copier. The toy on the window sill is 20 years old, same as me :D

http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/4769/room17mn.jpg

Image no2 - close up of desk. Nothing too special.

http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/6756/room25ts.jpg

Image no3 - shelf on the left side of my desk - some acrylics, some gouache, a pallette, some drawing books (among them - Loomis, D'artiste, two of Leonardo da Vinci books, some anatomy and drawing books), and 8th and 9th season dvds of The X files (I am a fan).

Hey Rebecca, cool thread! Although I haven't been CGtalking for terribly long, I might as well introduce myself before people start developing their own images. I rarely ever put the right face with a user-name or Alias, at least it's fun guessing until a picture thread pops up. :scream:

I know that most people are hesitant to show off their Driver's License or Passport, well that rings true for me on the latter.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/fnailsarepretty/adam3.jpg
(this photo still represents me pretty well, I grew another inch or so, +5-10lbs, slightly shorter hair, my beard filled in the tiniest bit, all the usual stuff guys do between 19 and 20 years)

Cheers!
Adam

P.S. I plan on eventually joining in on the Speed Painting and Anatomy thread, RK, but until then I'll continue lurking. *back into the shadows*
