Hi Adriano, very cool concept indeed.Only suggestion would be to try and focus on something particular and not show the full story in one frame.
Great work so far the monster looks teriific, keep it up:thumbsup:

Great concept. I like the chaotic, full of destruction feeling. Personaly, I think, that there is no need of helicopter. For me, it doesint fit, to the rest of overpowering chaos.

Hey, nice idea.

The overall image looks nice, I like the color and mood, plus the character has been design in a way that makes you wanting to model it.. :)

waiting to see more..

Pretty good sketches. I like the idea, chaos is great. A would work on the composition though so that more of a spectacular event is going (like a shot that would make a photographer a millionaire); maybe have one alien attack a helicopter (as in grab it and rip it apart) while jumping out of the water (just to add to the action). The monsters/aliens are great btw.

I'd agree on this. I think the monsters are excellent. But the storm, etc. may be a little too much. Look forward to how this develops, that monster looks great.

I love the great sense of motion in your concept, should bode for a very exciting image.

If you don't already know realflow or any other liquid simulation software, I'd not bother trying to tame their software results. For a still image you'll get your more desired effect if you model it yourself.

Great start btw

Great start Mr. Zannetti. I like the wongs of the creature. :p

Just one point pops in my head from looking at your composition of the scene. Maybe it lacks a bit of a focal point. All the mayor action is happening outside of the center of the image, maybe put something really happening in the middle of it all.

That, and maybe raise the contrast of the scene a bit. But then again, its only a quick sketch.

Good luck with the Compo! May the Burt be with you.

Awesome a sharkman!
I always wanted to make a sharkman inspired by the Maui & Sons Illustrations... maybe someday i"ll make one.

Your shark creature looks great. I'm not sure about the feet since they look more like a reptile's feet. Nontheless it is looking great.

Your shark-man is cool, but, how does he manage to swim with these so tall legs and this so little tail ?:D :D It was a joke, but I think that legs are too muscular, too human, it contrasts with the rest of the character. Till, nice modeling, very clear, and a great character design.

Great shark I even prefer it to the main monster... Is sharky going to be submerged under the water?

Looking back at your original concept I've just realised how much you've got on your hands!! There is a helluva lot of elements to take into account, and then some!! Are you thinking creating a matt painting as a back drop or are you going to 3d it all?
Great stuff, keep it up!

or create building that don't exist in Paris... which could be an option and implying that the storm destroyed everything much later in our future... I could change the date on the eiffel tower to 2105 or so I dunno yet.

pe@ce

Adriano

I think that is a really great idea! If you make buildings not there today, it won't hurt this scene at all. The few people who even know the buildings shouldn't be there couldn't complain because like you said, it could take place in the future. So just keep that idea in mind. I understand if you don't want to bother modeling more than you have here already. Time is an issue for all of us... Do what you can. I'm sure it will rock either way!

After staring at this for some time, I just had an idea. How about if you raise the point of view of the camera a bit (so that you can see the buildings better behind these creatures) and raise the winged creature to a higher point on the tower. Have the winged creature struggling to get his foot uncaught from the tower - flapping his wings and pulling as hard as he can. Meanwhile, the other creature is climbing closer and closer with a mean and hungry look on his face. This will create a tension. It will make the viewer ask himself "will the winged creature get his foot free in time? Or will the big creature below catch him and have dinner?" It will really heighten the intensity that way. In addition, I'd make the big creature on the bottom that is climing up even bigger and I'd shrink down the size of the winged creature. This way, it will create the "predator vs prey" feel more. Just an idea. Feel free to use it!

I only say this because I think it creates a more believable scenario. As it is right now, the winged creature could just fly away instead of fight. Why bother to fight if you can escape easily? It just doesn't make sense for the winged creature to sit there and fight for no reason... I know you said that he was tired or hurt or something which is why he landed... but without you having said that, the scenario doesn't make sense. I think the scenario I suggested makes more sense.

Damn, that looks nice!
Anyway, gardogg does make a valid point, but then again, some creatures are also more aggressive than others in deferending their territory.. maybe the winged creature wants the tower for himself?

Dunno, just thoughts...

Interesting story. I've never been to Paris so I don't know if it could be turned into a lake. Meaning that I don't know if Paris alone could be flooded while the rest of France or Europe stays dry.

Where did those monsters come from? You should be able to answer that question in your story or you end up with something full of action but no plot. Storytelling goes before the eyecandy

However if the story is well presented it could work.

I understand why the fight takes place now. Thank you for clarifying. The only thing that I would recommend is that you MAKE SURE that the fact that the winged creature has a hurt wing and can't fly is very clear to the viewer. I don't know how you will bring this out. Maybe have it be charred and withered from where it was struck by lightning? Good luck.

Or maybe some scientist was messing with DNA stuff and created the creatues

Hi Adriano. I was wondering, What software are u using outer than z brush?, your model looks great with the displacement map and maybe i could use some help, i am modeling in max, but have no idea how to combine it with Z brush's strenght, I'll appreciate any tips

Wow Adriano, that's a good help! it gives a great idea of how it works, first thought that I should do no uv unwrapping in max and doing it in ZB, then exporting it, i think it is also possible, but if i can doit in max is ok, I appreciate this funny help, now i'll study Zb a bit more and maybe someday I'll be as fat as that fellow overthere! :D Thanks buddy!

That "Draw Splines" stage looks like it takes sometime, you probably wanna invest in something like polyboost2 for your needs. You had a look yet?!> It one serious bit of kit.
I'm liking the Z'd dragon, he's looking quite mean. Fattys getting there too, I think you should add a bulkier turkey neck though.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the sky and lighting. Be good to see some unholy coloured clouds curdling with breaking lights piecing through?! :D

yeah, its getting better and beter,u must have got some pretty damn nice disp maps here in ZB! damn, theyr just amazing man,i loved the overal design,i think u could use those skin bumpy lines, better! i mean u have used it almost everywhere,in almost a similar density and size and .. .maybe its better to use deeper and bigger skin texture on the rough parts of its body, like shoulders and its back,and.... . and as far as iv got ur concept(at least i think iv got it!)tghis creature is a sea creature,so i think this is not a sea creature's skin! it might more more soft, and smoother...ofocurse this is not a rule, its just a bad suggestion!:D
man,thats really great,go on!

Cool stuff man. Looks like you've been having a lot of fun with Zbrush again. Reminds me again i really have to get into zbrush soon. Although try not to overdo it. I think it would look good if there's some contrast between smooth and bumpy parts on the skin. looking forward to rest.

Hay Adriano,

coming along nicely i see, i really like the zbrushing you doing to it the only comment i could make is that the detail just seams abit even. it would be nice to see more detail around the joints where skin wrinkles there should be more detail and harder creases. it would also be nice to see more around where any muscle folds are and the neck skin areas are.

check this image out, to se what i mean although i realize that this beasty might not have as couser skin as an elephant.

http://www.nature-wildlife.com/ele32.html

cant wait to see what colours you use for the skin. are you going to use any subsurface scatering?

cheers

The final tiff on ftp, from what I understood, is not something that belongs on your thread. The final that goes on your thread is to be uploaded the same way as the rest of the wip images were. The only reason for the .tiff is for possible future publications of the work in a book or something. The final image for your thread should be a jpeg submitted using the "submit entry" link and under the image type, select final image.
