"The hooded figure slipped further back into the shadows. He moved as quitely as the night that shrounded the streets. Lifting a gaunt wraith like hand, he tugged his hood further down infront of his face. The rain padded softly upon his shoulders. He waited. The street lamps flickered and the cold damp breeze seeped through the cloak and onto his skin. All was still, all was deathly quiet. He waited. Who knew how the events of tonight would change the course of history, What would be the consequences of the events set in motion? He stirred slightly, but now sound was heard. He waited..."

Good luck people, I'm just playing with ideas in my head. Hope you like little background story thing!

"The winged being bounded down the rain splattered streets. Darkness was complete in the alleyways yet the creature moved with great agility. Flowing through the night, it suddenly compressed like a steel spring before flinging itself high. Grabbing hold of a protruding roofing beam with a clawed hand, it span itself upwards towards the storm ravished clouds above. Falling lightly, almost dreamily it landed on a loosely tiled roof. No sound was heard. It stopped for a moment, as if getting it's bearings before again leaping heavenward towards a higher rooftop. Soon the beast was running above the city streets below, always gaining hight. Lightning slashed the sky, and thunder drummed the stillness. The creature finally pulled short on a ledge far above a shawdowed alley no different from any it had yet been past. Yet the being stiffened and it's large, pearly eyes probed the darkness below. It found what it saught. Slowly the creature straightened and turned it's face heavenward, opening his hands wide in offering to the Gods above he leapt forward into the abiss..."

Still haven't quite found that spectacular thing! GAR

"The blind cleric stumbled, his staff clatering to the floor. He heard sniggering off to his right. Gritting his teeth he began to bend down to find his staff. "Long way from home, old man?" The cleric stiffened. Images of pain and hatred filled his mind at the sound of the voice. Not his own memories. The cleric shook his head and the thoughts cleared. Slowly the cleric straightened hands clenching tight. "What are you going to do? Fight us, all of us?" Said another voice of to the left this time. The man remained quiet under the insults. A sudden feeling of urgency entered into the cleric, chilling him to the bone. He suddenly knew that the men where moving into attack. He grimaced and threw his hand out, purple light swirled around him encasing him in a shimmering shield. He just prayed that his powers would last..."

Another idea, maybe I'll stick with this one...a modified version though. I think the story for this was a bit pants, sorry! But I like the idea of cleric, some old geezer, magic used to protect rather than to harm...the whole good magic thang! Anyways, what do you think?

"The demons swarmed forward. The tribesman knew they would not last this one out. Huddled round a rugged outcrop, thrown high into the air they began a desperate last stand, to die with honour, just as the first morning rays of light brushed the dawn sky crimson. Standing aloft at the very pinacle of the outcrop, stood the tribesmans witchdoctor. Softly he started speaking, a language which jarred the throat and made those near him turn. Slowly he raised one hand towards the heavens and other outward towards the encrouching enemy. The demons faltered for a moment, but soon pushed onward. The witchdoctor carried on, sweat trickling down his face, his eyes going pale, but never the less he carried on. As they all did..."

Got the concept, it gonna be good. Sketch is just progression from last sketch, will slowly build outwards, adding more and more characters.

Your style is commanding, emotive, clearly specific. Great work.
