Okay, i said i was going to post something on friday, but i had a small time to do something.
This is just basically the idea the i'm leaning towards, in terms of how the town or environment would look like. The composition will definately change and the camera angle.

Will update later on again.

Nice creature. Do you have a story for this concept? With the enviroment and creature I am getting curious what this could possibly be about :P . Good luck on setteling on a composition.

Cool character designs, i love the rpoportions. Hope you'll keep them around...! :-)
09-14-2005, 06:04 PM
SPACESNAIL - thanks Manu.
Basically, the little girl in the middle and the guy are siblings and the other
girl, they just bump into her and tagged along. But they all have something
in common, their great great grandfathers were lengendary warriors that
once stood to protect "the world". So even if they don't want to walk the
same path, unfortunately, they had no choice, but to take the
resposibilities, because they were "chosen" to yeild those legendary
weapons that their great great grandfather once used. So that's where the
Anyway, if i continue this story, i might tie it in with the Fallen Angel from my Master and Servant theme... will see :D
SH@KE - thanks for dropping by dude.
AM7 - thanks bro. been a bit busy with other works lately though
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat meng. Susubay-bayan din kita.
DUCKLATOR - thanks mate. will post something later on...hopefully
WALRUS - thanks bro! glad you like the style. I will be keeping them on.
Okay, been busy as usual, but i will try to post something by tonight. I have 2 final composition that i might do both and just enter one. One is a fight scene and the other one is the result of the fight scene. will try and post the rough.
thanks again guys for the support and comments.
09-14-2005, 07:12 PM
hi! i don't know u yet, but i like your trace n personages draws. Good luke here, n visit me!
09-14-2005, 08:43 PM
hmm... i think i'm going with the fight scene. I'm not too sure if the result after the fight scene is close to the theme of the challenge... i don't know. I'm going to finish both piece anyway, just for fun, hehehe.
well, let me know what you guys think. i'll post the other idea later on. I'll work with this one for now...
09-14-2005, 09:04 PM
don't see any reason why fight scene cuoldn't go with the theme,
like the depth and perspective in this one
go for it mate
09-14-2005, 10:37 PM
A lil' bit confused but dynamic. Can be better in the composition, good luck!
i like the comp right now ... pretty cool with the sword so close up .. just not so sure about the shuriken girl ... maybe you could put her in some kind of crouching position on the rooftop.. in the middle of sword & string ...
gj on the angle ... keep it up m8
09-15-2005, 01:24 AM
MR.THURNER - thanks for dropping by. see you soon.
KORLINE - thanks dude. Just in case i'm going to try and finish both of them (will post the other scene later)
FEERIK - thanks for dropping by mate.
VAHN - thanks bro. i'm glad you like it. The person holding the shuriken is actually going to be the guy. I tried putting him around the middle area, but it just got to busy, plus i will be having debris of the roof flying around. I'll clean it up more.
well, my apologies for posting something rough. I will be cleaning it up more. The only thing that i might change in the composition is probably the string flying around. Hopefully, it'll be more clearer when i add the debris and people, ehhehehe :argh:
thanks again guys. cheers
09-15-2005, 07:20 AM
very cool angle.smart comp.I love ninja fighting.cheers bro.
stop spamming and go to bed. lol.
09-15-2005, 08:25 AM
Oh wow Archie, I LOVE those character concepts! Wow!
I like the idea (i'm guessing) of each of them having a weapon they specialise in. And i think doing the fight instead of the moment after is a good idea too, harder, but worth the effort! Can't wait to see where you go with this!
09-15-2005, 08:48 AM
hmmm... nice sketches, ang dami mo sigurong naiisip ngayon ah, good luck sau pre sana makuha mo yong gusto mong mangyari. nand2 lang ako. hehehe
09-15-2005, 10:44 AM
Hi Archie, I don't browse for a few days and there you go, great designs on your thread!
A fight scene that's sounds cool, kind of Manga style I suppose. Looking forward to see your next milstones.
The perspective you've done is interesting, so I'll wait for the next updates fro seeing the characters in action.
I have a hard time finding enough free time to work on mine at the moment, Octobre will be a be a quiter month. :banghead: Hopefully.
See ya!
i think the new sketch is good... but try to hint of archetecture out side the image. it will add a nice feel to... right now i think its kind of confined, i dont think an extra shadow on the roof tops there would hurt... nor would some stuff in the distant back ground... if you do choose to stick with this concept those things would touch up that image quite nicely :)
09-15-2005, 11:44 AM
cheers! well to tell u the truth im a bit confused with the perspective. but i know youll make it look great. the sketch looks great i love it! keep em comin. ill stick arount to see what u post next! cheers! :D
09-15-2005, 04:55 PM
that sketch is nice... keep pushing it
09-15-2005, 04:57 PM
I think it's a good sketch... I like the composition, it's very dynamic, I think it could work perfectly...
good luck!
09-15-2005, 05:34 PM

ZEPYHRI - Thanks Sam. I will try my best. Another idea is coming out of my head actually. I will post that too. thanks again
DIGITALHADZ - Salamat meng. Abangan...hehehe
THIERRY2005 - thanks my good friend. I'll still play around a bit with the comp. I'll post a more refine versions of the characters soon.
SLAV - Bro, thanks for the suggestion. You're a genius  I'm going to make it a horizontal shot this time. I think that should give a nice introduction to the architecturings and the enviroment.
CALISTO - heehee, it's actually a very simple perspective. Hopefully it'll be more clear when i clean it up and change the composition a bit. Thanks Linda
W!L - thanks bro!
ELMASFEO - Gracias amigo! and thanks for stopping by.
KORLINE - yeah, yeah, update will be coming very soon...maybe by this weekend...i think :p

THIERRY2005 - Hehe, i wasn't really busy. I wrist was hurting a lot so i couldn't do a handy work, but i'm feeling okay now. It was a good break for me hands, heehee.
Thanks y'all for the continuous support and comments. I'm really greatful and i will do the same thing. I guess i'm back, hehehe.... time to spam your threads
09-25-2005, 04:56 AM
Okay, i guess i'm back to working on this. My wrist got a good rest. Still don't have a lot of time though, but i manage to kinda mess with the composition and the placements of the characters.
So let me know what you guys think, while i mess with it some more, hehe.
09-25-2005, 05:14 AM
yo whass up,
finally something, hmm, you see that's cool idea and angle,
don't use to much color in the begining,

Hi Archie thats a dynamic concept sketch,,wonder whats comming up..awaiting for more updates on this one) Best of luck pal!
09-26-2005, 01:58 AM
Musta pre? Nakapag-upd8 kana pala. This is definitely a better angle man. mala-prince of persia style with the aerial-rooftop view. Wish I could see more emphasis next on what the characters might look like. Keep at it! :)
09-26-2005, 02:24 AM
heheh rather spectacular roofvisions. hope your wrist behaves mate! wanna see ya paint this up! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: lol, keep up the great work!
09-26-2005, 08:52 PM
KORLINE - Thanks bro!!! I usually work like that. I don't like using colours at the beginning stage (just in case i decided to change the topic or scene, hehehe).
XRIC7 - Thanks a lot buddy. The costume will be coming soon. I'm going to start putting the basic colours :D
DONSAM - thanks for dropping by dude.
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat pre. Hindi ko masyadong nalaro yung game nayun. Pero i like it a lot when i was playing it. Baka palitan ko nang konte ulit.... abangan, hehe.
SACHA - wa sup bro. thanks for dropping by. I hope my wrist behaves too :argh: If not, then i'm screwed big time
Okay, i'm seeing a lot of fight scenes in the challenge lately. I'm really thinking of going in another direction with this one... and maybe even change the topic...i don't know... we have 2 more months right, hehehe.
thanks y'all and really appreciate all the support and critzs. back to work i guess. I'll drop by the threads later on tonight.
09-27-2005, 01:39 AM
Wa up peepz,
Here's another idea that i've been playing with (sorry for it is very rough).
It's definately at lot more peaceful and calm than the fight scene. Same characters, just different scene.
Here they wondered through the forest and discovered an ancient ruin, maybe a place of worship or something mystical...i don't know (yes, i'm sorry again for posting something really rough. I don't want to end up like the last challenge where i was almost done with the first concept and decided to do another one, hehe).
Critzs and advice are definately welcome.
09-27-2005, 04:34 AM
the 2nd last sketch looks more dynamic angle wise, play around with that and i'm sure things will turn out spectacularly great!keep it coming:thumbsup:
09-27-2005, 07:27 PM
Okay, here's another composition of the second piece. I just pretty much extended it and made it a vertical comp.
I think i'm leaning towards this idea. I kind of like the more peaceful, calm, and non violence concept...and the more archiological discovery sort of, hehehe.
well, let me know what you guys think.
SH@KE - thanks for stopping by bro. Hopefully i can pull off something "spectacular" :)
looks cool ... altough you can see into their noses from down there :p :D
maybe you can make some kind of oldschool painting on the domes ceiling :)
09-28-2005, 08:37 AM
I like this idea better man. And the view's pretty spectacular with them under this great structure that they found. Dami ng nag-conceptualize about discovering huge things in this contest before, pero asteeg perspective mo, unique. I like how you're maintaining the focus on characters who are actually gonna be your main audience for that spectacular thing in your pic. Keep pushing pre!
09-28-2005, 12:39 PM
its got its advantages. i think a sense of awe is a great - like seeing the interior of the st peters cathedral - or sistine chapel. but lay-out wise i think it should be wider to showcase more...
kita kits uli
09-28-2005, 02:43 PM
Speed up! I know your talent man! Cant wait to see how it is gonna get.
String, Shuriken ??? What a mix! The calm scene is better, much better.
Shurikens flyng are spectacular, but to make a calm scene spectacular is even better.
Keep in touch, will track it bro.
I am doing a 3D short movie now, no time for challenges now.
09-28-2005, 04:53 PM
Hey Archie, the concept is coming along nicely. Good to see you taking a calmer approach to it, i think a quiet spectacular scene will really stand out amongst all the action shots. But, having said that, it is much harder to achieve. You have to ask yourself what in this image makes it spectacular? I like the composition, but beyond a couple of kids staring at a broken old dome, I'm not sure what there is that's spectacular about it. It's no reflection on your talent though archie, I love your stuff... just trying to see it from the judges' perspective. Maybe the idea of having some action in an old painting on the underside of the dome might not be a bad idea, though. I shall keep tuned to see where you take this!
09-28-2005, 09:11 PM
VAHN - Thanks bro! i might even add boogers coming out of their noses, hehehe :argh:
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat meng. I'm glad you like it. Yeah, i think i'm going with this one, but i'm changing the shot a bit. Lagay ko mamayang gabi, hehe.
JUGERAS - Thanks pare. I am going to do a wider view. Almost close to a panoramic shot actually eh. Tignan natin kung gagana yun :D
DJAMPA - Good to hear from you man. Let me know how your 3D movie is coming along and thanks for the support. Hope you'll have time next time to join in for more crazy fun. I'll do my best to make something out of this, hehehe.
SAM - thanks for the really nice advice and insights. i will definately keep that in mind. Actually while i was reading your critzs, i'm actually going to try and put a more deeper story to it, besides trying to design the architecturing to somewhat look "spectacular". I will try and make it a more dramatic sort of scene and hopefully it will make sense.
Thanks again guys. I really appreciate everything. Hopefully i don't disappoint the people who's following this lazy arse thread, hahaha. Will be back tonight to spam your threads and hopefully an update from me.
09-28-2005, 10:27 PM
i think even mellow things can be spectacular, like the dramatic angle that you've here,
with this composition, you can have all kinds of dramatic lightning, like during the storm, a lot of contrast you know the clouds are really dark, but the sunlight is really bright, something like that, :D
keep it up dude
hey man i really dig this new update. it really sings to me. keep it up ..
09-29-2005, 02:29 AM
KORLINE - Thanks bro! I will try me best to make it work. Holla from NY :D
SLAV - and what's its singing to you...hehehe. Thanks bro, that really means a lot.
Okay, here's an update. Hope you like em, because i think i'm sticking with this idea.
09-29-2005, 02:38 AM
Here's what i'm going for now. It's still the same storyline, about the sword, string, and shuriken.
In this scene, he ended up giving up his own life to do the right thing, not save the world (but he ended up doing it), just to somehow do the right thing.
The bad side is, he had to brake his promise of not leaving his sister and the girl who he fell in love with.
So that's the scene. Hope you like it. Let me know.
09-29-2005, 03:13 AM
:buttrock:nice perspective! i like it!

09-29-2005, 05:45 AM
hey bro ,
I see you putting some color in that,
how is the wrist, now that sucks, try not to hurt again unless you want to learn to draw with the other hand,
I think that's a pretty interesting comp with the nice angle, all depends what you gonna do with it,
cheers mate

[subscribed] Tagisan ng galing to. Goodluck to you Arc.
09-30-2005, 12:11 AM
Mr. THURNER - thanks mate. I'm glad you like it.
BEELOW - No worries homez. I think everyone is busy with their pieces, plus most of us do have other works to commit too, hehehe (i wish i could just focus on the challenge... )
KORLINE - Thanks bro! my wrist is doing okay. Just can't overdo it. Besides, i do know how to draw and paint with my other hand :D I think one of my prof in art school made us practice and from their, i've been practicing on and off, hehe.
RONGEN - Uy, salamat meng. i'll try me best naman. Subaybayan din kita (actually lahat nang noypi, hehe).
Okay, i'm going to try and submit an update by the end of the week. Thanks to everyone again and for your vote of confidence and helpful insights.
09-30-2005, 12:30 AM
just came to spam a bit more :p dramatic story crazy bro, and a kick ass cool angle. can't wait to see ya paint this to life my friend, so start your nitros!
09-30-2005, 03:20 AM
hey bro, just checking in,
nothing new yet, whatsup, ok I'll wait
09-30-2005, 03:37 AM
Okay, i'm still not use to doing line art digitally, but i'm submitting it for the line art milestone just to get it over with so i can go to colours, WOOHOO!!!
(plus i'm just too lazy and don't have much time to do it traditionally :P )
The design is not set in stone, so it'll definately have some changes when i do the colours.
Anyway, who needs sleep when you have coffee right, heehee.
09-30-2005, 04:21 AM
I see finelly we've got something, cool
no slacking of man,
seriosly I think you can do a lot of damge, with the figures/ statues, maybe ease a bit on perspective, and concentrate on the light, not sur just thinking here, and belive me it's hard lately :banghead: :banghead:
peace bro
09-30-2005, 08:49 PM
SACHA - Thanks bro! I think i'll stick with this one......hopefully (unless my head thinks of another idea :D ) I'll be dropping by soon for more spamming
KORLINE - Stop double posting... hehe, just kidding. Thanks for the support and suggestions. I kind of don't mind the perspective and hopefully it won't look to dynamic when i start colouring it and adding the characters and what not, ehhehehe. We shall see :argh:
Okay, it's the weekend and i think i can put more time to this. So i'll be doing some colours and post some more progress. Thanks guys.
09-30-2005, 09:03 PM
Hello my friend! very good angle and perspective! i wan't to see more! so ...ARBEIT!!!:scream: ...bonne chance and see you on your thread later:) cheeeeeeeeeeers
10-01-2005, 05:29 AM
Just the basic colour. I'm leaning towards the night time scene. I did a day time scene, but it just looks too damn simple (which i did not post btw).
I'm actually working on the night sky right now. Hopefully it'll look interesting when i'm done with the sky.
Let me know your thoughts.
10-01-2005, 05:39 AM
I see you up and running, well that's nice,
still think is to steep, but I'll shut up and wait
go for it  :scream:
10-01-2005, 07:42 AM
HI Archie, aaah finally a new sketch, great! What a perspective, it's very promising. I think the night sky will be more spectacular, so good choice IMO there.
Are your characters going to have some action poses on this BG?
Keep it up my friend! :bounce: :bounce:
10-01-2005, 03:37 PM
Musta dude? Dig deep for this one. And I dont know how you're gonna do that... Which makes this one really interesting for me. Pretty hard situation to interpret pare.
Comment ko lang: it's too sad lang talaga tsong. Daming nagpapakamatay sa pagibig kahit give up na nila honor nila (Paris and Helen) Pero yung sayo, gusto iwan pagibig, para lang sa honor. Nawala pagka-driver, sweet lover mo pare :) I'm really interested at how you're gonna develop this one though.
10-01-2005, 10:14 PM
I like the concept, but maybe you could show a little more emotion from the other two. Seems like the story depends on words more then the actual pciture now. Keep the updates coming, and I prefer the night scene better too.
10-01-2005, 11:01 PM
hey dude I'm not double posting, just try to check on your work :wip:
10-03-2005, 06:31 PM
FIOLKA A. - Thanks my friend. Glad to hear from you :D
KORLINE - Thanks bro  I'm hoping the perspective would work, but if it doesn't then i might just go back to my original idea or think of some back up plan, hehehe.
THIERRY - Thanks my friend. I'm glad to hear from you and good that you agree about the night scene. will post more update soon :p
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat meng. I know malungkot nga yung storia ko, pero wala pa akong nakikitang handling yung more na parang tragic hero story ang dating. Hopefully maintindihan nyo at mag mukang spectacular pag tapos na, hehehe. I'm trying to deepen the story telling. We'll see if it works :argh:
ACE - Thanks for dropping by bro. Yeah, right now, those scribbles are just for placement purpose. I'm actually going to rely more on facial expressions and maybe some subtle gestures for them. Thanks for reminding me about it :D
Thanks again guys. I'm a little busy with my other works at the moment. I will drop by your threads later on this week and spam you with critzs
I'll try and post an update by the end of the week. See you guys later.
10-03-2005, 08:59 PM
hey man... nice base coloring.... I can't say nothing yet.. keep it up!! I'll wait for new updates...
10-03-2005, 09:54 PM
Hey Archi, whats up bro?! Nice... You've enterd a new chalange - GOOD LUCK!!
Nice concept but i know it may be to early for this kind of comment, but be careful that the color tones dont become toooo monotone - if u know what I mean... :)
read ya later....
10-04-2005, 07:17 PM
Wa up peepz,
Okay, i think i'm pretty much done with the sky. My idea for the sky is to somehow show another stellar universe revealing itself.
I'm working on the architecturing next then the characters and how i'm going to light the interiors.
Well, critzs, comments, and suggestions are always welcome :)
10-04-2005, 07:19 PM
DUCKALATOR - Hey, thanks man. I'll see you around.
THE WIZARD - Whoa... look who's alive  Hey, you didn't get to finish your M&S entry, what's up with that :p Anyway, thanks for the early warning about the monotone and it's nice to hear from you bro! I hope you have time to enter and see you around :D
Be back again for more updates.
10-04-2005, 07:32 PM
Helo,, i loved your m and s entry.... theidea was greatness. This looks pretty dham cool right now.. angles nice and loved the characters. keep it up bro!
10-04-2005, 07:32 PM
very nice sky. keep on rocking!
10-04-2005, 08:16 PM
Hey Im glad u remember me...:) Yeah M&S is left unfinished 'couse i did some character design (and btw still am doing it) for one RPG game that's developing here (in my country)... So I'm not quite sure that I'll be able to enter this challange (i don't want to start and not finish it again :) But anyhow I'm here to keep my eye on some good folks, and to make sure u win this one .... Hehehe ...
10-04-2005, 08:31 PM
W!L - Thanks for the support mate. I really appreciate it a lot. Me try me best to finish strong this time :argh:
SACHA - Thanks crazy bro! more to come
WIZARD - Of course i remember bro. Too bad, you can't join another crazy fun, hehe. That robot design still looks awesome. Congrats on the gig bro and i hope to see the game one of these days. Thanks for the support and keep in touch
Okay, back to the digital drawing board, hehe. i will post a detail version of the sky and also include the progress for the achitecturing later on.
cheers and thanks to all
10-05-2005, 07:15 PM
hi buddy,interesting new comp.love the ant's eye view a lot. realy want to see the characters. don't be lazy. let's see it.cheers bros.:bounce:
I can see you've been busy (good boy!). I've always liked frog-perspective compositions, and this looks very promising. It suits the theme of you'r picture aswell.. to show the suprise of character faces, aswell as the large scale of the ruins.
I'm not to sure if a nightscene would work best though - perhaps it would look to monocrome, though are you planning to have some warmer colors reflect on the characters (like from a torch or sth they are carrying?)
Keep it up man! It looks like you have alot of details to paint. :)
10-08-2005, 04:57 AM
XRIC7 - Thanks buddy. Just like you, i am busy with other works. So i will try me best to post some character designs and final design for the characters. See you soon my friend.
AM7 - Hehe, yes, i've been trying to update (unlike someone i know of :argh: ) I tried the day scene earlier, but i didn't like how the whole lighting was working and the mood of it. So i'll try the nightscene and see if i can work with this one. I'll be careful with the monochromatic issue and try to avoid it. The characters will have a warmer colours of clothing anyway, plus i'll brighten the walls a bit. Thanks for the support and advice bro.
Yes, i do love to do details, hehehe.
cheers guys. will post an update soon.
10-11-2005, 07:21 AM
what's up man,
sky looks very nice, see how you gonna blend this whole thing together,
I'll check tomorrow, cause I'm dead tired :)
later bro :D
10-13-2005, 09:58 PM
KORLINE - thanks bro. Right now, i'm freakin busy with other works, plus we just moved to a new house. So can't really work on anything at the moment until we finish settling in.
I will be back next week and post something new and drop by yours and others.
I think i'm going to do a few changes with the sky and experiment with it more. Hopefully i finish this entry (1 and half months left)...just way too damn busy these days :banghead:
yo archie ..
looking good so far ...hehe this perspective would be too hard to do for me :D
Im curious how you'll place characters and light ... so far the nighttime scene looks great:thumbsup:
i moved aswell last weekend .. its strange to be in a new place .. i just gotta find time to work now :)
ill check back here later .. cya m8
10-22-2005, 08:46 AM
Hi Archie, good stuff for you your so busy these days and sorry about the implications for the challenge. Hope you'll finish your pic anyway in time and like you want it to be! Nice progress on the sky.
I came back from my little travel in France and I'm back to work on the texturing. Man this pic is taking ages to do. 3D in itself is quite a challenge!
I will come back to check your next updates.
all the best my friend!
10-24-2005, 06:30 AM
hehe...i'm back!how about ur another projects.:deal: good luck anyway,buddy.
just stop for little spamming. cool sky painting.i love it.love the comp too.
still wait for ur characters.keep going.cheers bros.:bounce:  :buttrock:
man if i run your newest work down i am sorry, but i think you took this image in the wrong direction with the last few updates.
that one is the best one when it comes to composition. the current update is very flat and doesnt really stand out at all. there is little movement and no dynamic flow from normal perspective to morphed perspective.
but yea i dont like the new :(
10-25-2005, 03:02 AM
VAHN - i see we're in the same boat, hehe. It's kinda annoying but it must be done, you know. We're still working on the house and it's a pain. Anyway, thanks for dropping by, i think i'm officially back to business with this entry.
THIERRY - Thanks my friend. Sorry for the lack of updates at my end. I think i'm back and will be posting something new, hehehe.
THITIPON - Thanks bro. I'm glad you like it, but i have a new composition at work. will post it soon.
SLAV - I'm very respectfull of your honesty and i definately agree with you. I haven't seen this piece for awhile now and i just recently saw it with a fresh eyes and HATE IT :banghead:
So i will be changing it and twicking the composition. Hopefully, the new one i had in mind will look better.
I've been thinking of a new composition even before SLAV made his critzs (thanks again buddy). I will be posting it soon.
cheers y'all and thanks
10-25-2005, 04:29 AM
Okay, i'm back to working on my entry. Still have a lot of other works, but i really want start working on this one again.
So here is the finalize version of the characters in line drawings. The colour will be next and i will post the new composition with it as well.
I think this time i have a clearer idea of how i really want to do it. So it's time to catch up, hehe
10-26-2005, 03:07 AM
Wazup tsong? Long time no post tulad ko a... Busy rin e. Pero hahataw narin ako. Astig style mo a. It's not really anime, it looks somewhat original the way your characters look. I love how the guy looks. The girl in the middle looks too simplistic. The chick on the left's ok. Keep 'em comin' pare.
10-26-2005, 05:45 PM
just noticed ur great characters and must stopped here to say that! :) keep up with the good work man! I'll stop here more often now.
10-27-2005, 05:57 AM
just waiting for something new,
10-27-2005, 07:12 AM
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat pre! If you dig this style then magugustuhan mo yung projecto na ginagawa ko ngayon (hindi para sa challenge of course). Meng, talagang busy ako ngayon eh, pero hahabol tayo, hehehe. So ni ready ko na yung coffee maker ko :bounce:
NinjaASSN - Thanks for dropping by dude. I was a big follower of your M&S entry. Your new one looks tight as well. We'll drop by since i have more time now :D
KORLINE - Hehe, nice to hear from you. I'm about to post an update. hold on
Okay, i will be adding more details on the characters once i get their basic colouring out (which i'll be posting in a few mins). Well, i'll just post it and see what you guys think, be back in a few.
cheers and thanks again
10-27-2005, 07:16 AM
Okay, here's the basic colouring for the characters and the composition that i will be going for (thanks to SLAV's added advice). I did change the sky and made it daytime instead of night time. This definately pops up the contrast (thanks to the people who gave me advice on that too).
Let me know what you guys think. Critzs, comments, suggestions are definately welcome.
10-27-2005, 07:52 PM
Hey, Archie, good to see you back and finding a little more time to work on this. I like the more contrasting version of your background. I'm not sure where in the scene the sword-girl in blue will go, just be careful not to lose her on that blue sky! ...Well, you'll get to see how it all comes together once you have the characters in there. Good luck!
man this is going to be soo awesome!!! i wonder if you would want to streach it down all the way to the ground... and have like a off the floor bird/ant eye prespective... that would be soo cool i could just see it in my head but damn... i could definatly see this doing well if you pull it off :D
10-28-2005, 05:27 AM
hey spammer lord:twisted: ,realy nice character design.love the shuriken guy a lot.:bounce:
anyway, for me the sky with the stars is better mood.will wait to see how u manage the characters with the scene.cheers bro.
10-28-2005, 09:58 PM
WALRUS - Thanks bro. I will keep that in mind. I actually thinking of changing the colour of her outfit, but will see what happens.
SLAV - Ah so NIBBLES approved of this, hehehe. You gave another great idea. I am trying out adding the floor. I'm just thinking of what scene to use now. Thanks again bro.
XRIC7 - Thanks bro. Yeah, i did like that starry sky, but it did ruined the contrast of the piece, but i'll see if i can create a more enchanting sky by combining that idea.
thanks again guys. I will be posting an update this weekend. I'm just thinking what kind of scene would fit with this composition. The dying part or back to the fight scene...
10-29-2005, 01:37 AM
very cute character designs mate!
Now a thought on the light: daylight environments usually give a too hard contrast to it for my taste usually, excet you play around with strong athmospheric lightfx. dusk or dawn offer the favours of both, dimmed light that supors lightfx and also a big palette of colorrange, and you still can slightly show some stars ;)
just my taste of course, now keep up the great work and burn up those pixels crazy bro, go go go, rock em all! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
10-29-2005, 03:38 AM
The characters are great:thumbsup: . Hope to see how you will fit them into the scene. Keep those updates coming.
10-29-2005, 01:31 PM
ANGEL - Thanks bro and thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if i can pull off something in that sense, hehehe.
ACE - Thanks bro. How come i haven't seen an update from your end huh :p
Okay, i will come back tonight to post an update. Need to do some other works first.
10-29-2005, 05:15 PM
Okay, well, i guess the update is early (took a little break, hehe). So here it is.
Still trying to figure out the placement for the characters, but i kinda like where they are right now... i don't... i'll play around more with it (it's very rough by the way).
The sky is pretty much done and working my way to the trees and a small waterfall. I also laid down the basic texture for some area of the stone ruins and yes, i did add the floor which i'm liking right now (thanks NIBBLES, hehe).
Critz, comments, advice are always welcome.
cheers and be back again maybe tonight for more update :)
10-29-2005, 07:56 PM
Wazup Arc80? :) Napapanay update natin a :P Ayos yan pare, ng matapos nato! Suggestions ko? You've got 3 characters right? Try playing with a pyramid layout for them. That'll create a pretty strong movement in the picture. 3's a magic number. I dont know how you're gonna do that though. Perhaps put one of them flying in the air or something. And would you consider playing with a bit of a color-filtered lens effect, kalimutan ko yung tawag sa ganun... Yung parang medyo monotone effect bayun? Yung meron kang main pallete for most of the elements... Para ma-emphaisize pa lalo yung atmosphere nung pic. Yan lang muna sa ngayon pre... Keep scratchin' on that Wacom tsong!
good job on the coulds. :) nothing to do now but sit back enjoy and drink some
10-30-2005, 12:01 AM
ACE - Thanks bro. How come i haven't seen an update from your end huh :p
:D We'll see about an update. I'll have to work fast with only part of a model modeled out:P .
Nice comp. I think the blue girl needs to show a bit more emotion, like the green girl; of course this is only a small layout, but the silhouettte doesn't read much emotion. Are you going to be doing any transparency effects or shine a light on the guy to show he is ascending? Nice start on the rock texture. Keep those updates coming:thumbsup: (maybe it will encourse me to update:argh: ).
10-30-2005, 05:44 AM
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat sa advice meng. Tawag don ata PHOTO FILTER. I always use it in the end. But about the pyramid placement for the characters, i'm not sure that would work well with the over all comp pre :argh: It'll be too distractive dahil consider mo pa yung vfx na gagamitin ko, hehehe. Subukan kong paglaroan :D
SLAV - thanks bro!!! A lot more works to be done...oy
ACE - thanks dude. Yeah, once i clean it, hopefully it'll be a bit more readable. She's suppose to not really show a lot of emotions, but you'll see her letting go of her sword. I need her to be seen less emotional volmurable than the guys sister.
Well, more works to be done and will update again soon. Thanks to all and very greatfull for your support.
10-30-2005, 03:05 PM
Youre composition is pulling my eye towards the top part of the structure. Im totally missing the characters. Which looked cute in your previous picture.
Good luck with your piece! Carry on!
10-31-2005, 11:02 PM
great work on the roxdetails, cluds still are a slight bit overbright and drag too much attention to allow later lightfx takin effect but who sais its lalalalala, mhph. sain' nuttin', xept cool progress - unleash your backburners mate, wanna see your next moves :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
11-01-2005, 06:27 PM
Just some minor works. Started working on how the ruin would look like. I'm also working on the small waterfall and the area around it. I will finish that tonight. Then move on to the architecturing.
Well, it's not much right now. Just trying to find time to work on it.
11-01-2005, 06:32 PM
FALCOR - Thanks mate. Hopefully when i detailed the ruin and the characters, that shouldn't be a problem. I know right now it's pulling the viewers eyes right on the circle. I will keep that in mind.
ANGEL - Thanks bro. You know what, i will do another run for the clouds. I'll try the sunset idea that you mentioned. Will see how that goes. I do agree that it is a bit bright at the moment and might affect the light fx later on, so i will run a more dramatic lighting with the next update. Thanks again crazy bro
Okay, time to check on your stuff peepz.
11-01-2005, 09:04 PM
Stary Night (will add more stars of course)
Let me know what you guys think. Oh yeah, ignore the water fall right now and the architecturing.
11-02-2005, 08:11 AM
I think the sunrise effect will put a nice glow to the rocky architecture like in your sample. On the other hand, you can play with some nice lighting sources if you go for the nighttime approach. I'm with the sunrise effect though. By the way tsong, yung mga characters mo ba magaaway sa scene?
11-02-2005, 08:15 AM
HI Archie, so you're back on the daylight mood, hehe, or maybe still hesitating. I kind of like the stary BG, but you might need to add some lighting on the floor in order to see the characters well enough,(face expressions etc). It's up to you... Just one smal crit , it feels that the circle at the top is missing some perspective in it, cause the rest of the picture is very distorted by the fisheye effect and that circle is almost perfect:D.
Glad to see you have more time for the challenge now. Will be back to see your progress on this my friend! Seeya
11-02-2005, 03:18 PM
Hey Archie! Sorry for my lack of being here lately, artistic crisis on my own piece! Anyhoo, my troubles aside, this is coming on nicely. I personally like the night sky idea, but you'd need to darken it down quite a bit to get that night-time feeling to the piece, then, as Theirry suggested, add some uplighting or another light source to the bottom so you can still see the characters.
If you do go for the sunset/rise, I would make the colour less 'mucky' go for pure yellows and oranges. I'll be very curious to see how you're bringing in the three characters and adding the narrative to the piece. Keep up the good work!
11-02-2005, 07:04 PM
AHBEEJIEH - thanks sa insight mo pre! I am leaning towards night sky now. I think it's the best for the scene that i will be making. Oh and hindi sila mag aaway. I'm going for the whole drama thing, hehehe.
THIERRY - Nice to hear from you my friend. thanks for the insights too. Yeah, i think night sky will be the best solution and i was hesitating for a while cause i couldn't figure out what's the best environment for the scene that i'm going for. Oh and that circle, hehe, i'm taking that off actually. It's too much of a focus grabber. Keep up the good work on your end mate
SAM - Hey, you're back. That's Awesome. Thanks for the advice and no need to apologize. All good and just glad you are back, heehee. Will drop off your thread to see some new update. see you there.
Thanks guys. I've decided to go with the night sky and just go with the flow on that and see how it will turn out.
11-02-2005, 07:15 PM
Well, no more hesitating. I'm going with the night sky. I think it's the best for the scene that i will be making. I took off the circular part of the architecturing. It was too much distraction in terms of focal point. I started working on the waterfall and will finish it hopefully by the end of the day.
I will post some details soon.
Critzs, comments, advice are always welcome
thanks to all and see you later
just a quick suggestion. make the sky towards the horizon lighter. and get rid of some clouds down there. i think that will help you illustrate vastness. :lightbulb:
11-02-2005, 10:59 PM
THanks SLAV for the suggestion. Will post another update soon with the character placements. I have two ideas for that too. Be back again.
(btw: your website looks tight bro. I like the works that are up there. Keep it up)
11-03-2005, 03:55 AM
Okay, this is me last update until the weekend comes :) I started placing the characters. The two girls have a very simple gesture.
I'm trying to really show that they are still warriors, strong kids (since they are the chosen ones to yeild the legendary weapons). So their emotion is a little bit supress.
Well, let me know what you guys think. suggestions and critzs are very welcome.
11-03-2005, 03:58 AM
Sorry, something happened to the server and i accidentally click the submit button twice, hehehe. DELETED :argh:
11-03-2005, 12:59 PM
Lookin good Arc... Keep going
11-03-2005, 07:29 PM
i hope to see a little more atmosphereic perspective going but yuor progress seems to be nice, until the next update!
11-04-2005, 07:09 AM
I preferred when the green girl was kneeling down, but that's jsut me. Warriors are humans too. Keep it up, still a bit too early in teh devlopment to critique much.
11-04-2005, 07:54 AM
Hello Archie !
Nice point of view.:applause: May I suggest that your characters could have more dynamic poses.
Looking at the whole picture, I can figure that they're waiting for some terrific event coming down the heaven . Your architecture set leads the eye to the hole.
11-04-2005, 05:42 PM
AHBEEJIEH, SLAV, thanks mate. Glad you dig it :argh:
BEELOW - Thanks bro. I will try to have something or a very simple hint of atmospheric... i think... hehehe.
ACE - Thanks bro. I'm actually changing the scene. This whole dying theme is not registering in my head and why he is dying in this place and what not. I'm still going for something simple and peaceful of course.
MANU - Thanks my friend. I'm glad you like the POV. You just gave me a good idea to change the scene a bit... thanks
okay, be back with the new scene. Hopefully it'll be more appropriate for the POV that i have.
11-04-2005, 06:09 PM
Here's the new scene. Very simple. The whole dying theme was just annoying me so...
I started cleaning up the architecturing and started detailing it. More work to do...
comments, critzs, advice are always welcome.
cheers and be back for more updates on the environment
edit: oh yeah, those glowing light will be fireflies. I will paint them in those light (just need to find my reference on how they look like :argh: )
11-06-2005, 02:38 PM
Musta pre? Gumaganda na a. Character repose no? Anghel ba yung pababa? Astig. Pretty good idea with the fireflies, they'll provide a great mood as well as nice light sources for your scene. Keep 'em comin'...
11-06-2005, 06:07 PM
nice perspective man! I think that last composition is hte best. Looks very dramatic, while everyone looks in its own direction.. like that they r dreaming or something. Being very passive. But Im not sure what to say about that creature up in the sky. It doesnt fit really, at least not in that position, like its heading towards to the ground. Keep going with the good work man, u r doing really fine :)
11-07-2005, 03:08 PM
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat pre! I'm not sure if it's going to be an angel, but maybe. Tignan natin. Palagi kasing nagbabago isip ko at dehins akong makapag concentrate fully dito eh.
BLAZ - Thanks mate. Yeah, i was going for just something simple. I kind of just added that messenger idea to see how it will fit. I'll see what i can do. Thanks again for the suggestion :D
Well, i'm still undecided on adding that messenger idea. Maybe i'll just go fully on a simple route. Just them three kids admiring the fireflies, surrounded by an ancient ruin...
will post an update tonight. Cheers
11-07-2005, 07:52 PM
Just a bit more details.
A lot more work to be done and more detailing and cleaning up and will be adding some more colours around the grass (flowers maybe).
be back again for more updates.
11-08-2005, 05:10 AM
nice going arc!perhaps u wanna have the costume colors of the characters be alil desaturated,it seems alil too stand out for the time being.just a suggestion though:)keep it coming mate
11-08-2005, 12:04 PM
Hi Archie, glad to see you're back with some seriously advanced updates lately.
Good stuff, it's definetly taking shape. Yeah the night sky is the right choice IMHO, cool work, think of your lights and how they'll affect the top of the architecture. The firefly is a very good idea, it ill add a nice touch to it. :arteest:
I'll be back soon!
Cheers my friend!
11-09-2005, 03:26 AM
SH@KE - Thanks dude. Yeah, you are right about their colours being a bit saturated. I will lower that down. Thanks again dude.
THIERRY - Thanks my friend. I will keep that in mind. I'm still trying to figure out some design aspects on certain areas of the architecturing. I need to finish that before moving on to the characters :arteest: :argh: I shall post an update very soon... hopefully a close to finish for the environment :D
Thanks guys. Be back for more updates soon.
Hey man, this is coming along nicely :) I've finally got some ideas and sketches down on paper that I like.. so I'll try to finish this myself. It will be some very long nights for sure.. hehe
11-09-2005, 06:34 PM
Getting close to finish the environment. Just need to add some ancient writtings and fixs the foreground grass. Then i can move on to the charactes.
Let me know what you guys think.

cheers y'all and will update soon.
11-11-2005, 11:24 AM
hey man.. looking good... like the composition. environment is nice... lights really bring something to it.. what are they firsflys or something? keep it coming!
11-12-2005, 02:31 PM
I see you're moving foreword,
you've create a grate mood, think you need to work on light more thou, like the columns from the bottom should be darker, and just have the glow of those lights, the waterfall needs to be pushed back and that also is the light issue, I didn't really check the perspective, but make sure it's right cause in this composition it's plays the vital role
one more, detail on the grass, I think you need reflection and split them up a bit
just thinking here, hopefuly I can help a bit
11-12-2005, 03:05 PM
Archie Is The Man......dude Your Smokin This Drawing Out.
Keep It Up And Try Playing More With Blue Shadows ...it May Bring Out Your Fire Flys.

11-14-2005, 07:13 PM
W!L - Thanks mate. Yeah, they're fireflies. I thought they give a good secondary mood light sources. Your piece is coming along great by the way:thumbsup:
KORLINE - THanks bro. Yeah, i do need to push that water fall back. I'll try darkening the bottom area and see how it looks. As far as perspective, if you look at the previous line art, it's basically the same as that. So i'm pretty sure the perspective is fine. Thanks again for the great advice bro.
THE CLYKE - Yo! Thanks for the support bro and for the advice. I'll try me best to make it work and finish it:)
WALRUS - Thank bro. Yeah, hopefully the style intergrates with the environment.
DULSHAD03 - Thanks for the support bro. I guess you and your bro are quite busy with school and all. Well, i'll be in touch and email you guys once in a while. Keep me posted on thing in Canada. I will update soon.
Sorry for the lack of update again guys. My wrist is acting up again and i'm quite busy writting a story and working on other works (typing kills your wrist more than drawing... i think). I will update as soon as i get the chance and when things get a bit calmer here at my end. Thanks again for continueing support and great advices.
be back soon for update abd will check your threads with it too.
11-23-2005, 07:05 AM
Okay, i'm back. Time to finish this piece. Been really busy with the house and other works so sorry for not updating.
Here's what i did:
I'm fixing the waterfall and pushed it back. Darken the ground and started putting the basic colours for the characters. Much more work to be done with the architecturing though, but i have a good idea on how to detail it and make it look ancient.
I also fixed the grasses on the foreground by the way. Just need to start putting highlights and bouncing lights around it.
Well, more works to be done and be back in the morning to check up on your works.
cheers y'all and have fun
11-23-2005, 07:29 PM
yay! I was worry for a while, but u r back, great :) nice updates, nothing to crit really.. so I guess I just stoped by to say hello and go on and finish the piece in this way :)

Okay, it's thanksgiving here, so i have to get ready with that, but i will be back later tonight for an update....promise
11-25-2005, 05:09 AM
Okay, here's more update. Fixing the grass foreground and started laying out the heiroglyphics. I'm almost done with the waterfall area. Just few more touch ups on it and the background is set. Then i can move on to the characters.
I darken the image a bit, especially around the ground.
Well, any suggestions before i call the background a final colouring, let me know.
Thanks and cheers to all.
11-25-2005, 05:23 AM
Wow, you too have gone for the fisheye lense. Fantastic stuff! I look forward to seeing it finished.
Well done and good luck!
11-25-2005, 05:27 AM
Oh, I forgot to mention.
Your picture remind me a little of "High and Low" (http://www.math.utah.edu/~lars/mathart/artpix/escher-high_and_low.jpg) from Escher. One of my favourite pictures.
11-27-2005, 09:13 AM
Hi Archie, nice update, I like it a lot, it's got a good mood and great details. These fireflies add a nice magical touch to it. Can't wait to see your final characters on this BG. One small suggestion could be to have a more volumetric and gradual light from bottom to top, to give it more depth. Give it a try with a layer in PS, I just tried it on mine and it's kind of working much better now. The front grass could even be darker, it's a night scene after all. Well, hope these few suggestions can help you. Keep that digital brush active my friend!:arteest:
Apologies for not visiting more often but was busy with other projects for some time! Seeya later mate and thanks again for your advices on mine!
11-27-2005, 04:12 PM
checking out your last update, so the only thing that I see wrong is that the waterfall seems to be in the foreground, and schould be in the back, I think in the night light it schould be darker and less visible, only reflections schould be sharper, some volumetric light and fog would work pretty good to I think
great job on the sky, hopefuly this helps you a little, cheers :D
11-27-2005, 05:34 PM
archie boy kamusta n pre... rock n roll n.
tirahin ko n h - id have to agree with korline.
the fall needs a bit of suppression. a bit of sharp highlights (plants including) would help - i think
(just my 2 cents) id put a slight tint ( you can use multiply or color dodge mode to paint - especially the dodge mode to simulate lighting- use low opacity-with the color of light chosen) for the bg elements
and use a different cast/tint on the foreground elements like your characters - like what i see on the stone - somewhat purplish tinge. youll have more separation???
just thinking out loud. go sago. cheers man.
11-27-2005, 11:50 PM
SQUISHME - Thanks for dropping by dude. I saw your entry and i'm digging the alien creature. will drop by to check out and thanks for that pics. I've never heard of the piece, but the pic looks good overall.
THIERRY - Thanks my friend and don't have to apologize. We all get busy with our other works, you know :) Thanks for the advice too. I'll darken it more, but just a tad bit, i kinda don't want to loose a lot of the small details. Yeah, i'll definately darken the front grass too. Thanks again
KORLINE - Hey, good to hear from you bro. Thanks for the advice. Yeah, that waterfall, i will push it back more and darken it. It is still too bright, so you're right. I'll be working on that tonight.
JUGERAS - Salamat pre! That's a good advice. I'm actually using the a lot of that purplish colour, especially for the cast shadows. I'll sharpen some of the highlight for the grass. I guess i got use to using soft brush a bit too much, hehehe. Thanks again tsong :bounce:
Thank you all for the great advice and suggestions. I will post an update later on tonight.
So be right back for that. There is a few more days to go, so this is definately duable.
11-28-2005, 12:16 AM
I love your heiroglyphics a lot.:bounce: the lichen is look awesome.can't wait to see final image.
:wip: not much time left I hope I can finish in time.:argh: I'm sure You can.
11-28-2005, 12:20 AM
I really adore the scene you are creating! I think it could use some more depth though back by the waterfall......paint over some translucent blues or purple greys and i think you'll get a pleasing result.
11-28-2005, 04:25 AM
yay, an update, hehehe.
Well, considering all the advice, i did darkened the lower area, pushed back the waterfall, and used some sharp highlights on the foreground grass. I think now it's working better. I just need to finish the detailings for some areas and BAM, i can work on the characters.
Well, let me what your thoughts are.
cheers and thanks to all.
be back with more updates
11-28-2005, 05:15 AM
thats some insane progress since i last time dropped in! love how the light works now with your darker environment, let it rock crazy bro, burn those pixels! go go go!:buttrock: :wip:
11-28-2005, 03:58 PM
lumilinis na a... Love how the sky opens up like that. Any chance that you might pull in the clouds a little more closer together towards the opening, to make the place darker and emphasize the "portal" look of the sky? :) More of an opinion lang tsong. Nonetheless, you're doing great naman e. Can't wait to see the characters...
11-28-2005, 08:51 PM
THITIPON - Thanks buddy. I'm glad you like it. I know you'll finish it. Can't dissapoint your fan club, hehehe.
BAKANEKONIE - Thanks for the advice and thanks for dropping in. I'm glad you like it and more to come in this few days.
SACHA - Thanks bro. Yeah, i had to make a drastic update so i can catch up, hahaha. Much work to do with the characters, so be back for that.
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat pre! I tried that before, but i didn't like it. I kind of what to show the clouds revealing the stars. To me, it feels more peacefull and quiet, hehe... i think.
The characters are about to come. so abangan nalang.
Thanks for all the advice and comments. Now time for an update. Here's the final colouring for the environment.
11-28-2005, 08:54 PM
Here's the final colouring for the environment. I'll probably add something later on, but i need to move on to the characters.
Let me know what's on your minds peepz.
11-28-2005, 09:19 PM
Hey archie, nice picture. This has a nice feel to it. Great color
I have to agree with others about the waterfall popping forward. I think the problem is with the dark spot at the top of the falls. Its really darker than anything in the foreground and its bringing the falls foreward.
Overall, great work.
11-28-2005, 09:39 PM
Great to see it finalizing, congratulations.
You doing a great job man.
Good luck budy !
11-29-2005, 01:16 AM
Okay, just started working on the characters. more details to come. Here's the shuriken boy.... more works to be done...oy
be back again
11-30-2005, 08:51 AM
ZPAPAGEO - thanks for dropping by dude and thanks for the advice.
DJAMPA - Good to hear from you again bro. How's the film going? Are you going to post it here at cgnetwork. Let me know so i can check it out.
Well guys, about this piece, i think i just took it to a different direction and i've decided to just keep the background and call it a finish environment piece (i will post it at the regular 2d thread).
So, saying that, i'll either have to come up with a new piece within the six days of challenge left :banghead: or just raise the white flag on this challenge
I'm truely sorry guys. I'm really going to try my best to submit something before the deadline. I just got really busy and kind of lost focus on this entry.
I wish everyone goodluck and hopefully you'll see a new piece from me in a day or so.
If not, then i'll just cheer everyone here and support all my buddies, who are finishing the challenge.
thanks again for the support and great advice and comments guys and hope you understand. I will try me best.
cheers y'all and be back to see some of your threads.
11-30-2005, 08:01 PM
Well, i'm not about to give up, hehe. I know this is a very last minuite change, but i think this is more appropriate for the challenge.
So here's the new piece. "LaMer" a more sci fi theme, since i haven't really been doing a lot of it.
Let me know what you guys think.
Be back for a lot more updates
11-30-2005, 09:27 PM
Okay, more to come. Must use the time left well.
I'll be back later on tonight to check up on how everyone is doing.
12-01-2005, 02:22 AM
Well, here's another update. I'm hoping i can submit something... so i'll try with this piece and see if i can get it to finish.
12-01-2005, 04:32 AM
Still trying to make this work.... i probably alienate some of you by now, sorry for that.
Here's more update.
cool stuff man. i just keep comming back everyso often sorry that i cant as much as i would like but hey... what can i do right?
i suggest just finish up what you have of your original and hand it in. will take longer to just remake everything.
to be honest you can do an amazing piece of work in 2/3 days just depends on how often you go out :P
12-01-2005, 06:35 PM
SLAV - Thanks bro! You've always been a big help, so no need to say sorry. Everybody gets busy and all, you know. Well, even though its a last minuit change, i think i'm gonna see how far i can push this one. I haven't done any sci fi theme in a while anyway, hehehe. Plus it's the weekend coming and i don't have any social plans
So we'll see how far i can go with this one.
About the other entry, yeah, i would submit it, but i don't feel that it really suits the theme for the challenge. One of my buddy and i were discussing it actually.
Anyway, thanks again and will be back for more updates
12-01-2005, 06:41 PM
hey bro are you nuts :buttrock:
I love it , last second change of direction, and looks awsome to, composition is great,
I would work quickly now, mainly on water and get one bigger ship and detail hell out of it,
leave city in the fog that looks cool, and you're there :bounce: :bounce:
12-01-2005, 07:04 PM
Change the overall colour comp and started cleaning up some areas. I will be adding more elements to the sea and the fog. Hopefully that will help the mood of the piece.
more to come
12-01-2005, 08:08 PM
Pushing my luck and trying to wing it :)
Another moon or planet.... maybe
let me know what you think.
more works to come
12-01-2005, 11:02 PM
Putting more time to it... more tweaking...more cleaning up... and much to work on.
12-02-2005, 01:27 AM
Great improvements bro. I can see huge potential in this piece. Keep at it.
12-02-2005, 03:12 AM
Okay, i think all the shapes that i need are in. Time fore more detailings and refinements.
cheers and goodnight. More updates tomorrow.
12-02-2005, 03:14 AM
KORLINE - Thanks for the advice bro. It works really well i think  You're crazier than i am though, heehee (all those wirings... oy)
DRAWME - :D :p
12-02-2005, 03:28 PM
Wohohoo, you crazy artist!:surprised adding a challenge on top of the first one, haha! man I wasn't expecting this on this visit. Gee you'll have a stressy week-end finishing this one, but I'm sure you can make it!
I like the composition, the colours and the theme. What's the story behind this one? I'm curious but can wait for you to finish the piece and write down what it's all about. Good luck, wish you the best for these next few days:arteest: my friend!
12-02-2005, 05:30 PM
THIERRY - Hehe, thanks my friend. I'm glad you like this one too :D Yes, i'm crazy that way i guess :argh: But hey, gotta keep the suspence alive right. A very late decision, but i'm having a lot of fun with this one :p
I'm gonna do my best to finish it. More updates to come.
cheers and goodluck to both of us :buttrock:
12-02-2005, 10:32 PM
Okay, more details and designed parts and areas. More to come though, but getting there... going crazy...arrrggg
I'm thinking of putting the small aircraft like (which i'm still trying to design) coming out of the fogs... i don't know... will have to play more with that. I was thinking of them coming out of the ring, but it's too stargate kind of feeling to it.
Show the beginning of a battle scene or just hint it out.
I will explain the story later on.
Thoughts, advice, comments, let me know
3 more days WOOHOO
12-03-2005, 04:38 AM
Did more texturing and fine cleaning the edges. Worked more on the foreground character and finalize the ancient structure.
I'm not sure if i'm going to use small aircrafts now. I didn't like the feeling of them. So back for another round on the design of the guardian of that ancient structure.
Thoughts, advice, and critzs are always welcome
cheers and back for more
12-03-2005, 05:20 AM
Whoa... Sayo pala to?! Sa sobrang bilis mo magpalit, hindi ko namalayan, bago na pala concept mo :) This looks a lot cooler than the first I'll say. You're crazy man, and it's crazier if you make this work. But what the heck right? It's lookin' good already. Keep at it! Kakaiba ka men! :buttrock:
12-03-2005, 07:44 AM
Okay, last update for the day and will be back later on. Added some vfx of small crafts getting hit and is about to crash. Did more refinements on the water area and the dock.
More to come later on today.
cheers and goodnight
oh mr. valdez the new concept looks very cool .. i hope you enjoy his one :D
pity youre not happy with the first one..i really liked that...

12-03-2005, 07:10 PM
VAHN - Thanks bro. I hope you finish as well. I would love to see your piece finalize.
About the previous piece, i will finish that as well and post it at the regular forum.
So i'm not abandoning that piece. Once i'm done with this i'll get back to work on
that one. Thanks again buddy.
THITIPON - Hehe, thanks bro. I'm glad you like this one too. Just trying to cram it now.
Like i said to VAHN, i will finish that other piece as well and post it at the
regular forum. Nice to hear from you again buddy :D
be back for more updates on this.
12-04-2005, 01:03 AM
Man i love it when people make last minute revamps... it excites the crap out of me... its like insanity without senswe... lol... but man u gotta hurry... it looks amazoing, no SPECTACULAR... lol... keep it up... really waiting for the final image... enjoy thr stress and wrist aches looool. j/k... nah u seriously gotta hurry... cause i seriously cant wait for the final... :buttrock:
12-04-2005, 02:15 AM
sweet bro, :buttrock:
work it, great textures, keep it up, that's cool pic you have, one thing the waves, they need to get smaller by the horizan line, cause now they almost the same size, and it's messing things up, :D
hurry, cheers
12-04-2005, 10:17 AM
wa up peepz,
Well, i think i'm closing . Got rid of the crashing aircrafts idea. Didn't like the feel to it. So i replaced it with floating rocks to push the space theme a bit more, plus i think it adds up to the story.
Well, any last word of advice before i call it a final image. Let me know.
cheers and goodnight.
be back again later.
12-04-2005, 05:12 PM
Astig. SciFi to the max a. Di ko nabasa concept description mo... Hintayin ko nalang sa write-up ng final image mo. Only thing I can comment on is I think the water's a little too plain. Pero ok yung mood mo, freaky dating nung tatlong parang mi inaabangan. Ang galing mo, ang bilis. Check you out later nalang :arteest:
12-04-2005, 05:13 PM
Hi Archie, wouch!! you almost finished it...Gee I'm impressed, in such little time, hey for that alone congratulation my friend. Besides that fact it looks very good, I like the work you did, much more than on the previous picture, so good thing you swaped to this concept. Great sky/clouds and composition, the Sci-Fi theme works well and is very nicely executed. I haven't much to critisize, I just think it would have been interesting to see part of a face, maybe on the front characters. That's all. Make good use of that last day to still work at improving it, if you find places to do it. :scream:
Oh just a thing, while I was looking at it one more time, I think the moons are a bit blurry, they could be worked on a little more with some finer lines or holes in them.
That's it, astonishing work you did mate.
See ya later :)
12-04-2005, 09:45 PM
DULSHAD - Thanks bro! I'm glad you like it. I'm not stress at all actually. The hard part of it is all the thinking process. Thanks as always for the support my friend. How's school by the way?
KORLINE - Thanks bro. I'm fixing the wave right now, so another great advice. Can't wait to finish this and yours too.
AHBEEJIEH - Salamat meng. Worked on it all day yesterday. A bit more to tweak. So be back with the story and final image.
THIERRY - Thanks my friend and thanks for the last min advice for the moon. I'll make sure to tweak those and fix em. I'm glad you like this theme. Almost done with it. I just need to add something... hehehe.
Okay, be back for the final image. Time to make use of the remaining hours:argh:
will come back to check on peoples thread later.
cheers y'all and Goodluck
12-04-2005, 09:55 PM
i'm really liken this man....and the position of the camera gives it even more of an edge.....can't wait to see the update
12-05-2005, 02:09 AM
WOOHOO, i made it :D
Here's the story:
In the distance galaxy of Andromeda, a race of nomadic civilization roams the galaxy in search of a relic that may one day help them restore their dying world. As they travel to the different locations of known and unknown corners of Andromeda, hearing rumors and myths, they stumble upon an ancient ruin that said to contain something of importance.
So in this scene, they are about to enter the ancient ruins to find out if what it contains is the one that they are looking forů but first, they have to pass those guardian, hehe.
That's the scoop. Hope you enjoy and thanks to all who's been a great help and support through out the challenge.
