Hello,

i was wondering if anyone knew where would be the best place to do a slow motion shot.

for example: I'm gonna animate a character doing a jump kick. My question, is do i animate it slow, or do i animate it in real time and slow it down in post. ie: final cut/after effects.

thanks.

Hmmm… I guess it depends on how you like to animate. When animating at 30fps you can get away with so much more than if you were to animate at 60fps. Keeping in mind that at a slower frame rate you will notice all the subtleties, so maybe it might be a good idea to animate at a higher frame-rate (120fps) to establish a better since of rhythm within the movement and then slow the whole thing down and tweak it as necessary.

Just a note… I wouldn’t slow the animation down after rendering, I would do it on the time-line within your animation software.
