This is the male model to go along with the female model that I recently posted. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

Very nice, I am guessing MAYA?

Heh, I was about to say the same. :D

It's weird how you can just tell what software people are using based on a subject and the style it's done in. People using LightWave love to model cars and women's heads (guilty as charged...) People using 3D Studio Max seem to like to create elaborate scenes containing castles, houses, forests, oceans, and crappy textures. Maya users seem to like creating Pixar-ish characters and highly-detailed muscled naked people. And Softimage, well, haven't seen enough Softimage artists to comment.
Great work, by the way!

p.s. Not trying to offend anyone, just making a goofy observation!

You are wrong...Martin Murphy had done the most perfect male anatomy study with LW. Syomka uses MAX and Maya, check out other forums (not just cgtalk) for artwork. Check Newtek`s website gallery eg.

I`m sure subject is not sw dependant, but artist dependant. I`m using LW and never ever had modelled any car, but characters (http://www.3dluvr.com/jester)

It`s rather a trend, that most artist try to do his best at character modelling, and most artist try to use the most wanted sw: Maya. So it`s simple, I think. And of course there is Anatoliy using MAX for his characters...

:applause: Looks awesome, psilipsycho (no relation!). The renders are a bit underlit IMO. It might be worth doing some lighter ones - looks like you've nothing to hide...

He has a perfect line right down the middle of his chest. That's odd

Its a really good study. The only problem that I have with it is the center line it feel a bit to sharp. I'm sure you can do a little softer blending. Other than that it really cool. Actually this is just general adice. Play around with lighting its a bit dark. And seems like you spend a long time on it so show it off with your lights.

highly detail model:applause:

the proportion is a little bit off tho. but that's ez to fix, apply lattice later on can fix it all.

One thing tho. Is the nipples too far apart?

Maya 4.0
poly

Thanks for the positive responses. I went back and softened up the line running down the stomach and fixed the placement of the nipples. As far as a possible accident due to the lack of genitalia, which would such, it is actually because I work at a school where many people see my work on a daily basis and I do not want to diccuss his willy every five minutes.

HapZungLam : I was curious what proportions appeared off to you? If you notice something specific please inform.

Here are the stomach and nipple corrections.

My only complaint would be the addition of extra muscles where I've highlighted.

The Rib-Cage should Join underneath them.:wip:

Looking great by the way, I can't wait to see 'im textured and finished.

in order to be considered a male he might need one inportant organ...I'll let you guess what that organ is...LOL

Much bette man. I think someone mention that the proportions where a bit off. From looking at it. It looks like the neck might be a bit long. But that might be your camera angle. Look cool though.

Looks like Maya to me dude.

Great anatomy study! A few mistakes but very well done.
Nice flow in the wire.

Good job!
