Good job Saurabh.
I would say that this is totally fine for a one week starter. Only thing is that it doesn't loop! For this week I think it's totally fine, but I would look into adding, or subtracting the frames from there to make this animation loop!
Oh, just a quick update to the pendulum itself. I've added a layer for the control curves so you can turn off the visability of them, so the render/playblast doesn't show the curves! (I know, a really poor update, but ah well, just something I noticed!)

Hi there,book study group !
Here is a little pendelum animation. I did it in Plastic Animation Paper shareware. I animated on 2'os. I usualy work in maya. But I want to atleast try out som animation fundamentals in 2d.
I think there should be a new assignment more often than every 4 weeks. Especially for the easier assignments.

God night for now.

Hello klingos,
That was really a nice effort, doing everything with hand really is tough, but you got the timing almost correct. However, the animation was a bit wobbly, which I am sure was because you didn't take any measurements.
And you are right about the time period, I have posted a new assignment here:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=272875 (showthread.php?t=272875)
Hope you can do this one. This one is slightly more tough and will provide us with more oppurtunity to critique each others' work.
Right?

Thanks for your answers guys.
I can tell you guy's right away that I'm no star at drawing. But it was lots of fun.
But that is why my pendeulum was that wobbly, cause my drawing skills sux. But I try to impove, hoping it can help me be a better animator. I also try to learn this thumbnail thing. So why not explore the 2d animation. I'l try to do it better next time though.

Ok, i couldnt resist to make a new animation, but though a very quick and dirty pendelum, for the second assignment.
My second pendelum animation (http://www.klingos.se/mov/pendelum2.avi)
As you can see I have a hard time just to draw a couple of circles = )

now youre moving a bit to fast with the whole idea I belive :) a bit too eager, and its showing up in the animation
youve forgotten about ease-in/out* and the part where it comes to a stop at the end happends to fast, make it happend gradually, that it slows down. you might have to do a longer animation for that, otherwise it would have to start to slow down from the begining of the animation even.
*
edit: on a second look (sorry I woke up like 1second ago) I do notice some ease-in, but you could still hold the ball in its "up position" or whatever, for a frame or two I belive.

I have to agree with the above comment.
Try dampening the action. It needs to start slowing from the very beginning if you are going to be bringin it to a stop. So the first swing would be the highest and quickest, then lower and slower... (Good lyrics here or what, huh?!?! HAHA!)
Oh, and what's this about ripping your own sketches?!?! Don't put yourself down so much, heck, I have problems drawing stick figures!

I guesss your right. I'l maybe do a new one as soon as I got some time again. (Hopefully this night.)
I thought of the pendeleum as as pendelum in an old clock. Where a guerwheel or something stops. Or maybe the time stops when someone die or someother drastic thing. So thats why I made a more quick stop. Maybe the excersize was about to make it stop slowly, ease out. I and yes yor right. I got quite eager on this on.
/klingos, of to work...

Hi guys,
I too have an animation of damped pendulum. I am not very satisfied with the result. Anyone can tell me what is exactly wrong with the animation?
