Awesome work so fire , I love the explosion effect :) I would still like to see some motion blur however just to increase that dynamic feeling ..

That comes very good and strong Alex... I'm happy to see now the Auto-Union... just hope you will post soon other view of it... you planed a splendid design, and now, with the motion blur we can't interpret it... a shame :scream: hahahaha... I'm waiting the map "3 views"...

In fact, maybe there's too much motion blur... and maybe you must approach more front this new car... of you can trick to have it a little bit bigger... more near and more front permit the spectator of you masterpiece to have a better view, and also to increase the spectacular, to increase the pressure of the race, and of course... the imminent danger of the situation... what do you think about that my friend ?

Anyway... the rest is very beautiful, nice and all that kind of words... there's lot of time you know I'm a real fan of this project... always much pleasure to discover all these details... as the new flags...

You remember certainly my old remarks about the left wall... a little nude... I always have the same feeling today... less present, but this part need something to enriched it... as dirty things or scratches, or eventually somes wires... or electric boxes... to something too big or too visible... that doesn't disturb the spectators of the actual action...

Do you planed to add motion blur to the main car ? if not... maybe sufficient to have a more blured shadow under the car... we can see the hard contrast difference between the both.

Too much wrote this morning Lemog... I stop now... good day and good continuation on your project Alex... GO GO GOOOOOOOOoooooooooo

Your image is looking great.Do you need that much motion blur on the second car?It is such a nice racer and now you can hardly see it.

Love the driver ;P

Seriously, very very nice work.

Think maybe the motion blur on the front of the competitor looks a little strange.

It turns great. The fact you add a 2nd pod improve much the quality of your picture.

JamesMK
11-17-2005, 10:05 AM
The second racer does appear a bit amorphous currently. Other than that, it's all exceptionally nice, and that smily looks like it was made for this very moment, to join this race :D

This turned out very beautiful. The pallette is really nice. The guy in the ship is, in my opinion, just the cherry on the sundae, the image ispretty much done! Something not quite 100% with the people in the bleachers, seems like they´re a bit transparent. at first I thought it was motion blur, but the pillar above their heads seems to be in focus...

Race. I like this word! :) Great theme for spectacular challenge, I have race too :D

It looks excellent, fantastic vision of race. I like it very much, there is everithing , speed, great flying cars, big explosion, fantastic enviroments,....
Keep on rocking! :applause:

Wow...looks nice! I like the dynamic of the image. I feel the power of this vehicle... The explosion is nice too! But the sky is strange a little bit, maybe because of the contrast. :) Keep up the good work, and good luck!

And here the image again with some small fixes..

- AUTO UNION racer is now a bit closer... and have less motion blur

- added some mb on the shadow under the frontracer

- added some small details on the naked arena wall ;)

- overall mb is a bit less than the last version

That´s it 4 today
See ya Friends

This update is very good mate... your new details are exactly the things I can dream for the left part... perfect... shadow of the main car is better like that... size an position for the AutoUnion agree me a lot... but always too much motion blur for me... maybe this effect is increase with the grid aspect... we don't see a grid but something too much uniform... and with the pilot, that will be certainly different and better... well... must waiting the next step now... yeah mate... good work

Only a few fixes :))) left.

status report:
- Image file size in photoshop is now 180 MB
- counting 30 Layers
- Overall Polygon count of all objects in the Image... ca. 2.120.000 :)
- 120MB in Textures
- Mr. Copermine is now at the wheel!! :)))
- Counting at least 120 Bottles of HEINEKEN, FOSTERS, & DIEBELS during the challenge ... hicks!

What´s left:
- a small point light on the right side und the racer.
- People screaming burning and jumping out of the firball
- and a small AUTO UNION advertisement an the 2nd racer.

That´s it Friends!
See ya on the next few updates.

yes! good job again Vamp, some thing that I feel strange ( for me only) is "H" infront of the car , it don't look like a car paint maybe you can add thickness to make it look like logo? haha yes very tiny point , it's only one thing I found in image ! perfect !

(o)ne
11-19-2005, 01:20 PM
best wishes in final steps, mate! :)but I agree with Monsit about "H".

JamesMK
11-19-2005, 01:51 PM
- Image file size in photoshop is now 180 MB

Oh yeah, that's the fun part :D The best thing of all is that there's plenty of time to, for instance, make coffee while waiting for the file to open.... I think I peaked out at 340 MB before starting to flatten stuff...

Alexander,

Super job on this:thumbsup:  ,Wow , that is lots of layers you have in this image. . With the "H" on the racer I think if you move it up closer to the "3" it would look better.
Good luck with finishing this off

No longer can you just be a good modeler or FX guy you really need the full package as you have shown. Also thanks for really showing off your techniques and sharing so much. Great work Alexander. I think that you have really set the bar very high. Your image will definitely push me to work harder on mine. Good luck.

Congrats on the final man! I really think you have a very good chance at one of the top positions! The only thing thats missing I think is some motion effect on the ground/front car. But thats nitpicking (i wish i could do what you did! :/ )

One more question, your photoshop file is 180mb?? what computer do you work with and what 3Dcard? i'd really like to know !! :p

Preface:
It’s all imagination and science Fiction you see in this Picture.
It´s all about What if…

What if the people in the 19th century had already the ability to hover….
What if they are doing awesome World-Championships with hovering vehicles…

Saturday. 9 March 1910

One of my worst days …but also one of the best days in my whole life.
It is near at the end of the final lap. My RICHTHAMMER - Hover Racer runs like hell and everything seems to be perfect.
I can touch the smell of victory this time, and there are only 2000 meters to go. Only one last corner and there it is… the great arena… finishin line.
The crowd goes wild, and I can smell their testosterone. But something went wrong… what´s that noise… This dam sucker in the AUTO-UNION. DAM it! I´m HIT!
My rudder blocks and i can´t control my Hover-Racer. OH MY GOD… the sky turns red. Someone must have crashed into my left rudder.

Silence…..

Everything is like slow-motion now.
I can fell the pressure from my heartbeat bumping blood into my vains… bum…. bum…. bum…

My eyes went to the right side of my cockpit and I saw this pure guy in his racer hitting the track-margin and become a ball of fire flying right into the arena.
MY GOD!!

Things are speeding up again and heart is bumping like a capoeira drummer. VICTORY!
I cross the line short before that sun of a bitch to my right. It was his fault.

This should be the happiest day in my life, but my face is covered with tears…
There he stands on the podium… to my right side. Smiling like he has won the race… but he doesn’t!!
This was my day!

There is only one thing left i have to do…..

BAM!

It´s an incredible feeling to broke your fingers hitting that dam smiling bastard.

Now i feel better.
VICTORY

Well done Vampeta matey  The only crit I have is that the second car is not of the same high standard as the first one. For some reason I love "after the race" piece more than the actual "race".
"After the race" has tons of personality and very interesting mood and I love the style on that piece. Very moody

Overall everything very well done and good luck with the competition :deal:

Edit- Love that building in the background btw.
