It is midnight and we are in Sorrento overlooking the Bay of Naples watching a spectacular display of fireworks when Versuvius decides to overshadow the manmade spectacle......

Hey Claire! Not a whole lot to say other than I like the idea and can't wait to see more.

• Hi Claire! good to "see" u  I like the concept, but I think it is more romantic than spectacular, of course i've never been in Naples, so I'll wait until you have more progress or send me a ticket

Aaaaaaaaaaaah... baia di Napoli... soli, con te (ma, senza il vulcano certamente) :D
Nice idea... I ask me about the most spectacular between fireworks and eruption ? That certainly give a particular and original touch to your picture :applause:

Plenty of room for details and smoke.Cool theme:thumbsup:
09-08-2005, 09:37 AM
Good idea !
09-08-2005, 05:04 PM
a plenty of light and colors !!! That's very cool :wip:

Another great idea Claireabella! Good luck!!
Are you reconstructing the Bay of Naples from photos/maps etc?

Many thanks for your comments and encouragement - they are all much appreciate and I really hope that I can complete the challenge this time.
Well, I perhaps shouldn't have specified the exact location and volcano as I was really just using that as a guide for the image. Is it ok to make somehwere up now that I have said it's Versuvius?
Will try and post something early next week for comment. Thanks again for stopping by!

Started modeling the balcony from which we will be viewing the fireworks and volcano...

It's a wonderful, from what you have been describing. I try to picture myself in the scene, and the sight sounds and feels spectacular. Can't wait too see the effects of the fireworks and volcano. The atmoshpere should be something too see.I'll keep watch.

Nice start on the balacony, looks like a nice place to watch such a spectacular event.

Make sure to have a few people. Have some that are looking at the fireworks..not yet aware of the eruption. Then those in fear. Great concept!

Hey Claire. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with your entry. Been kind of out of it lately. It's looking good though. Glad you're finding time to work on this one. Keep it up!

Am just testing the layout of geometry to get a good feel for how the picture will progress. Hope I have got the start right as I need sky space for both the fireworks being let off from the barges and the volcano exploding from the top of the landscape.

Very nice and clean concept, but will create a spectacular impact in the final image:thumbsup:
Nice start with the scene layout, looks promising, waiting for your next step:bounce:

Glad yor back at it. Keep on going, I want to see some finished work from you.

Good to see you back, Claire!
Your scene looks very good - the balanced layout will be a good contrast to the upcoming explosions. Good luck!

I think Vesuvius blowing its top is pretty spectacular, good to see you started the modeling. I think I would push the volcano back a bit more and move the barges a little closer. Look forward to more updates.
