Here is my first concept skecth. I would like to do picture with a combat of superheroes guys.
I don't exactly know yet how the action will take place but here is my first idea. It's quite common, but i will try to have nice superheroes poses with very dynamic feeling of the action.(Like mangas combat action scene). It's my goal.
09-06-2005, 10:43 AM
ooooh I like that! Good luck with progressing your idea! Great work so far :)
09-06-2005, 11:18 AM
Thx Enialadam :). I think i will go to watch Appleseed on theater this week and some others manga movies. It will be the best way to get my final idea.
09-06-2005, 12:56 PM
Ok, it is the same concept but with a shot of a town from Appleseed in the background, to test the feeling of this skecth.
Maybe I will try a sketch with a different angle and a destructed town in background, to feel better this combat of the titans.

Nice concept Lilian! I really like the blue colorization and tones for the city in the background. Good luck in the competition! :D

Based on your previous works with the "Latrix" and whatnot, this should turn out to be killer. Subscribing man
09-06-2005, 03:33 PM
Hi Lilian! You're up to a good start here - good luck!
09-06-2005, 03:38 PM
Kid Mesh, I was thinking of that. Since I want to do a manga like image, there will be for sure some inspiration of my old Latrix work.
Thx Gunilla, nice too see you again on this challenge.

Cool concept, and a perfect camera angle to boot.... *clamps on to thread*
09-07-2005, 03:17 AM
Hey there. Your sketch reminds me of a game called Zone of Enders. This one looks very promising :)
09-07-2005, 03:21 AM
I like this. Its not something one sees everyday in real life. I would think it was spectacular for sure. However... this is something I'd see on DragonBallZ. So if you make the characters realistic (and the background too) then it will look more believable and hence more spectacular since a real life version of that scene would be WOW!
09-07-2005, 03:31 AM
its great concept, but I recomend break angles for the poses... or one superhero strikes to the other against the building, makin destrucction and people die ... .. sorry Im exited :buttrock:

Now this image looks like something truly spectacular!
Djiemsi, as others have noticed, this looks a lot like somthing from the DBZ series, but it's what makes it look so damn good! I would suggest very nice motion blur in the image, to put emphasis on the speed of the blows, but you probably thought of that already.
And I advise you go with the whole city, not make it wrecked or destroyed, that would make it a bit TOO like DBZ, and they might penalize you for it.
BTW, the sword has to look uber cool man, don't just use a regural katana style, I would go with more of a medieval two-handed one, or maybe an english longsword.
Just a few things I thought you should keep in mind... :)
Looking forward to seeing this one develop...

Thank you for all these advices ;) I will work on that this week end. I've been little busy this 2 last days.
Will try to do another sketch more detailed :)
...and after maybe i will begin 3D modelisation. :p
09-09-2005, 01:51 PM
very nice spectacular image...even when it is at the sketch point.....don't you think they r fighting at a very high level :D it is dengerouse:scream:
09-14-2005, 10:06 AM
Sorry for not posting this week end guys. I was waiting for my new computer to work and it arrived only yesterday.
Fed up to work with my little powerbook. Now i have a very nice machine to work on Cg :) :)
Anyway, about the sketch, I think to not continue it right now. You got the idea of what I want to do. And I really want now to focus my work on the 2 characters. I have in my head the look of them - superheroes shapes. So I will begin the modelisation now ;)
09-14-2005, 10:15 AM
Lilian, Man this a promising concept sketch, Even I think that the camera angle is perfect, it is adding a lot of depth to the scene, May be just try adding little more FOV, it might help.
Keep up the good work dude:thumbsup:
09-15-2005, 11:01 PM
Ok, I think to have a woman vs a human air combat would be interesting. So this is the very beginning of the head of the superheroe woman.
I though about that after watching again Kill Bill. A woman fighting a big heavy muscle hulk like or wolfwerine like superheroe can be more spectacular than just 2 men.
I still have to think about what superpower the 2 guys will have :p
09-16-2005, 05:29 AM
Model so far looks cool dude:thumbsup: Only thing is the eyebrows are missing, maybe this is your concept for the female.
Anyways the progress so far is looking good, Keep up the good work Dude:)
09-16-2005, 11:26 AM
Djiemsi, are you going for stylized characters or realistic ones? 'Cause the head looks like it's made of rubber, with it's eyes indented so much. But it looks cool if stylized is what your going for.
09-16-2005, 12:06 PM
Yep, I prefer to do stylised character, and since now i watched a lot of manga movies and got superheroes comics for my concept, I've done this by reflex. (And also I am not fully confortable in making realistic characters, but i can try).
It will be easier for me to get what I want with stylized characters.(I'd like to get a mix of manga/comics style characters).

Hi, a litte post to show you where I am in the modeling of my superheroine.
I should give her a little name :)
I tweaked a little the head and I will tweak a little the body to have better proportions of it.
I go to work on the hands now. I hope you will like her ;)
09-23-2005, 04:02 PM
A little update of the girl. I made her some hairs and some cloths. I have to tweak some part of the skinning to get the pose of the concept sktech now. Will make her some nice boots and belt. And I will start the sword.
Before beginning the man (second charater) I will do a part of the city... I go back to work now.
09-23-2005, 04:37 PM
Mhmm seems legs has too big wrinkles, and the hair looks strange, if they are wet, maybe this is ok.
09-23-2005, 05:35 PM
I agree with Dodgeas3d you need to work on the wrinkles especially on the knees area. other wise you are doing a good job dude:thumbsup:
Waiting to see your next step:)
09-24-2005, 08:58 PM
can we see a grayshaded version of the clothed figure pliz :D
09-25-2005, 07:37 PM
Here again the girl (in grey).I didn't tweak anything yet since the last post. I have to adjust the wrinkles near the hips (too large) and also for the knees.
I am not happy also with the hairs, and maybe will do other boots.
Will work on it this week.I hope the work on the girl will be over next week end.
09-26-2005, 05:40 AM
Hey there! Weird, I didn't get the ebot this time
Don't you think the butt is way too big?
