I can't fix pose of charactor too much , because I model them in final pose
You know, I had this same problem with my characters and I think I found a good solution that is pretty quick. In your 3d app, simply detach the limbs that you want to repose. Detach them at the shoulder and at the elbow. Then, repose the detached limbs to your liking. Next, reattach the limbs. Now some tweaking will need to take place. To do this quickly, simply bring the model into zbrush and sculpt the joints with the move tool until you're satisfied. The whole process shouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes maximum I think.
I really respect you as an artist and I know fully that you have far more experience than me. I just thought that I would throw out this tip in hopes that it would help you in some way. Great work man!

11-16-2005, 03:28 PM
Lemog, Gunilla, authentic, shtl : many thanks for supports! good luck to you too!
Crying Horn : no , in my latest post is not procedural , its paint texture , I mean I will reuse them and make each one look different with map some procedural to modify it , and don't know what part do you meant , but if you mean a stuff in man body ,it's a fake hair , just for ornament , sorry for english;)

Hi Monsit, I have to say that is a very nice work, great modeling even though we cant see the wireframe, and obviousaly what it called more my attention was the hair, really nice, I wish I can accomplish something like that, I know hair is always a pain... What software are you using? I can tell is Maya but I wont be sure... anyways.. Good luck!!!

Hey Monsitj, I hadn´t seen your entry before. If your previous M&S entry is anything to go by, I´m sure that the finished piece will look very beautiful! I already love the background, and their pose is very dramatic and interesting. Good luck! By the way, I´m now also doing a turtle, (like you did in the past, though a bit different!) :).

Hairs are already very good... I just see them more in the wind, with more motion... less straight than now... but with the complete integration with the other parts of your scenery, that will be certainly less disturbing... the base is very good for the moment... maybe darker hairs... not ?

Been following this one because it's amazing. Every update kills! Just one small thing I keep expecting you to patch. There's a little bit of sky showing under one of the roofing tiles. There's this monumental clash of elemental forces and I'm worried that the roof might leak!
But really, your composition is the best. You hit it perfectly in the beginning and never second guessed yourself.
Great work

There are many nice things going on in this picture. Good job so far. The only thing that I notice right away looks wierd is that the woman's leg on the viewer's right looks too cylindrical. It looks like she has no calf muscle and no shin muscle. Perhaps you can tweak this. Hope that helps.

I see something more dark to the long knife... it's better of course, and more contrasted... but we speak about the blade of the little knife of the women... this one appear very flat, and of course... the blade don't have beautiful and rich reflection... and the little dark ray at the end of this blade, even if it's realistic, give us an odd result, not very esthetic... then, maybe you can enriched it with another orientation, of giving a shape more round, or tricking with map or photoshopping...
The rest is okay for me... more than okay... incredibly beautiful

Brilliant work! Nothing to crit, except a couple of things you could try: add a slight fog effect to make the characters (esp. the man) stand out from the background. This could be localized around the area behind the man so his headgear doesn't get lost in the roofbeams. Also, try putting a small amount of glosiness (ie. raytraced bluriness) in the metal of the boxes & blades, & in the polished floor reflections.
CryingHorn
11-24-2005, 04:39 PM
Nice progress, as I see you work quite fast, so that's a  . The only crit I find here is maybe that floor looks to clean and it's too reflective for a wood. Good luck!

Looks great! The texture work is superb.
I think you need to do something with the composition though - its extremely busy at the moment and the eye doesnt know where to focus. The detail of the textures, combined with the geometry and overall sharpness makes it hard to make out at a glance. Try defocusing some areas, adding a vignette, some BG mist or dust and maybe alter the lighting so that shadows and sihlouettes will help seporate the characters from the background. Maybe change the sky too - the whiteness of the clouds 'merge' with the whiteness of the girls' face.
Sorry to drop a big crit on you like that at this point in time, but i think the only problem with this right now is its sharpness and the busy-ness of the composition.

Nice texturing and design, Im not sure how far you have gone with lighting or what rendering style you are aiming toward, but I feel the lighting lacks drama, and seeing as this peice has quite a bit of drama, you really want to show it off :) perhaps look at tieing in the stormy sky into your lighting more, which might give you a bit more contrast in the scene. Another Thing is your skin shaders, although these characters wear make-up it would be nice to see a bit more depth to the skin even slightly. Maybe try making your wood a touch more glossy and your cloth have a bit of falloff toward the edges.
Other than that modelling, texturing and posing are all great!
PS : motion blur would work a treat on the coins/tokens especially!!!, but if you added it to the whole scene subtley it wouldnt hurt.
Keep up the great work! This is one of my fave works!!!

Thats look really nice...:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Only two crits. I dont really like the legs of the woman. It looks wrong the way it bends and the way its model. And I dont like the coin and especially the box on the bottom corner (not enough details in the texture).
Not that it looks really bad but compare to the rest of the quality of the pic it is much lower in quality/details.
Anyway great pic

Well... at this step... your art can't permit us to do many crits... maybe just for my taste, the hairs of the guy need more contrast... to appear a little bit less flat... and that all... and the worse... that's I'm not really sure about that... :banghead: hahahahaahaha
Your picture is already fantastic...

11-30-2005, 09:51 AM
monsit this image is fantastic my only suggestion is maybe the eyes of the geisha..it could be maybe better if she looks in the direction of the man -eyes.. also the big finger of the left foot of the girls doesn't looks very good it's a little bit too flat or square...don't pay too much attention at my crits it's just small details the whole image is fantastic
for the sky ..it looks great and the trees too maybe the color..if it was in autumn with an orange value ??

It looks much better with the darker sky and more contrasty dress. Amazing hair on the kabuki-chap!
One minor thing though - the womans feet bend quite strangely at the toes.
BobbEr
11-30-2005, 12:59 PM
Now it looks Better:thumbsup: ! Darker sky is better! Maybe add some color contrast between light and shadow? For example 'warm' light and 'cold' shadows :). only little advice. I like the textures! This is photo or U painted them by yourself? Good luck with your entry!

Kabuki plays are about historical events, moral conflicts in love relationships and the like.
but it's not the normal show,it's the minute of dead , the assasination in "kabuki" show ,
the audience will enjoy the spectacularity of the performance, the wonderful costume, dramatic story,
but dont't know that the assasination is real!
