Ok here is the subject !
A man is jumping out of a plane. It's the first time for him and I think he is getting sick...
The perspective should be the same in 3D to have a great depth in this picture...
Maybe I would turn into a cartoonish style to enforce the sillyness of the event...
Maybe The man could dribble like a dog, and maybe some could fly surround him with is flying bag unlocked... Or a bird could take his dribble in the face...
Something funny and cool...

Uhuhu! Promising sketch - as for other suggestions, he could be busy using a barf bag too :D

Hey this is a cool idea! I look forward to seeing more work on this. I think maybe a different view would be cool to see, we could be looking down on him and also have the perspecive of him heading towards the ground. Maybe he could lye on his back so u can see his expression, or maybe have more then one person? Just my opinion.

Great work so far!! Keep it going, good luck! :D

Uhuhu! Promising sketch - as for other suggestions, he could be busy using a barf bag too :D

Excellent ! I didn't think of that !
But maybe it would hide the facial expression a lot...
Or just to see the expression in his eyes should be a great challenge !

Maybe I should look through the plane seeing him looking at us and the ground above...

Ahah ! C'est certainement une façon de s'évader sans prendre de risque ! Pas sûr que j'aimerai faire du parachutisme ! Mais comme j'ai toujours une tête de con en photo, je trouvais que ça collait bien au personnage !

After tweaking the mesh in Zbrush, I edit the subdiv cage and import the mesh in maya. This technic helps me to find the best shape of the geometry...
Then I continue to model the other things, neck, inside of the mouth...

Good brushing - and I agree with Grigorij about exaggerating the mouth and eyes some more to get the message across. As it stands now, the expression of the eyes doesn't match that of the mouth... but overall it's definitely going in the right direction with quite a believable surface structure and everything

J'ai bien fait quelques trucs mais bon, c'est disons pas top et déformé ... donc pas super :(

hard to translate this type of French in english :p

Its sure that all this maps kills, but lolo decided that doesnt works for him :p
More seriously I believed to suspect that 2.5 was excellent too, thats again going to tear everything !!
I can't wait that I master the organic modelling :p

Here are my test to find the best result with my maps from Zbrush...
With bump, with normal map, and both...
now I have to do the diffuse map and other stuff...

Nice model! I like the SSS, too!

You don't think that will be better to take your choice and have a good setup if you are in the same situation thant the final environment... for the moment, you have only a hard light and at the final, your guy will be in the sky... his face in ground direction, no ?

I say that an I say nothing... but if you find a super good result with this light and this black background, you certainly have to restart your setup in the final scene, not ?

I've some test before with this shader. The cool thing is that it react well in any environment and no need to change anything to keep a good result...
But you're right, I have to pass to other things, but I wouldn't start anything else if I didn't find a nice result to keep my Zbrush details... :arteest:

Here is the graph network of this shader.
The normal map and the 2d bump are mixed with a plusminus average...
Ther is just de misss fast skin...
No diffuse at this time, no specular map, no subsurface map, no reflexion map...

Hey dude the normal and bump map looks real cool:thumbsup: Rightnow the shader looks good to me, it all depends on your final lighting also dude.

Waiting to see your next step:)

I have some f£%*ing artifacts in the render when I switch the bump node to the shader...
The strange thing is that I hadn't this problem yesterday !
Any solution ?

another view...
Maybe the normal of the camera don't understand the outnormal of that bump... but it doesn't work well with any other texture...

But this bump works well in 3dsmax...
So this is a problem from any connection in maya shader node...

Here is the start with the diffuse map...
Only one color with one noise a blur and a copy of the bump superposed with the other layers...
I still have some strange artifacts, coming from the mesh probably...

Yes, that's waht I said, the bump is still too strong... I will work on the diffuse today again, and then do some tweaking, on the bump, and the specular and the reflexion...

Thanks Laurent and Stéphane !

Anyway it seems that I'm a bit late in this challenge ! So much things to do !
But I think there are not so much things to do to complete this head. I will finish this diffuse today and make some tweaking on the bump map. Then it should be easy to make the specular map and the back sss overall weight...
Then I have to model the body and texture it... But I think I will do this faster than the head...
Then the Plane ! I didn't model any plane before ! It should be great ! Let's see !
