Hmm...yes... paintover? Not a bad idea! If you can give her some of this softness for the final it could be very good.
And now, for gods sake - give her some clothes!
No... just quick Photoshoping...
Clothes ? not yet I think... this evening, I must finish hair test (and dark color... the fault of Dimis and Leonardo)... and start another jewels... which are maintain the clothes... as clip... :wip:

Nomad -> we always win much with friends as you all... for that... I can keep my PIII for many years... :scream:

thierry2005 -> Maybe it's time that I ask her to do more sport... maybe tennis will be good for her... or a book between 7 or 8 kgs will be sufficient  hahahaha

sergioKomic -> Hahahahaha... next week... I close the boob's thread :wip:

cipher -> Thanks Séb... mais je ne sais pas qui est ce gars à la place de mon avatar  :scream:

Nice updates as usual. I just noticed that her shoulder blades look a little too sharp and unnatural. They need to be more rounded and smooth. Here's a photoref of what I'm talking about. Hope it can help!

bonjour Laurent
Perso je pencherais pour la brune mais j'ai peur que ca fasse peut-etre un peu sombre dans l'environnement deja couleur pierre et bois.

hi Laurent
Personnaly my heart goes to the brunette ! but i'm a little afraid that will be too dark with your environment tone, stone and wood.

makaron

Swed -> you're right about the dark bacgkround, but there's certainly around her some glowy-magical effects... then, certainly no prob of contrast in this case... thanks for your advice copain

makaron -> you see what I said this morning... this one seem more "complete" :scream:

Am I to late to vote? My vote goes for Auburn, or perhaps something between Auburn and the original one... I think the red in the hear makes her warmer and more interesting. Also less timid perhaps :)

Clips for clothes looks just great - no idea where they will go though

I forget it by "ma tante" is a very old french expression that means you had leaved something to "Mont de piété" another delicious name for "pawner" (prêteur sur gage)

Quand je disais il y a quelques posts que Lemog était bassement vénal !

Very nice your family's jewels Laurent ....

The jewels as part of the dress are looking great laurent . I like the stone texture on them . Is the dress going to bee a toga or something more to the medievalness ( nice word :P) of the scene. Like the stairs the bookcase etc. Great work my friend . it looks amazing :D

OK - I got the idea now about what model it is - this can become really sweet, very nice tailoring

The jewelry would make it hard for her to lift her arms above her head - but perhaps that's not needed. The main vision is what counts here, so now go on!

now when you got the dress, your angel is missing....

and looks like that dress gonna work, hope you keep it short so the legs shows later....
are you doing layers on the dress, or is the back open for a other reason?
No layer... its open back just because... because I don't know exaclty... certainly influenced again by Mucha's art... where woman have often very lite dress or toga... but in the final picture... that will be not visible... of course...

Coming on well, I think. But I agree the folds looks a bit strange at this point... I think you could use some more weight in the fabric, pulling it down more. Right now it's a bit like if it was made of Nylon and she would have nylon stocking underneath ... all female recognise this phenomen - where the fabric get stuck on the body by static electricity... you know what I mean?
Keep tweaking and you'll get there!

Yes... it's my big question... belt or not... I've planed without (in my mind)... and I want to continue in this way... I will do more tests... and texture it... and if the result is not ok... I will try to add a belt... of course... it's a good solution... Thanks mate

all female recognise this phenomen - where the fabric get stuck on the body by static electricity... you know what I mean?
Hhahaha... sure... I know that (not on me of course...) and effectively, now you said that... I only see that... but that can work with the texturing planed... a blend of fabrics map and procedural shader, to obtain some cross deformation between modeling and texturing... I don't know if my explanation is really clear... I try to post first test soon...
Thanks for your thoughts NylonGirl :D (another super heroe with lot of folds  )

daWinky -> thanks for the motivation Sabrina... very kind ;)

Zapan -> Thanks... you're right about alex's idea... I continue few time on my first idea... (my head is a little bit hard :banghead: , but you know that...)... I want to continue to test that also because I think to the low transition... cause I imagine something... and I want to test it since the end... anf if that really don't works good... of course, I add the belt

Héhé... very good one... interesting... also very antic roma...

I must acknowledge to follow a way very different... my vision is really not the same for the moment... finally... I've planed (and I started) on something more simple... a contrast between jewelry and simple fabrics...

Oh yes... and another thing soft the dress... I commit an unforgivable error... this dress is in nurbs... Maya convert virtually nurbs in the rendering... and I forget to setup correctly this "virtual tesselation"... and of course, that appear very coarse in first :scream: :banghead:

Why don't you make the dress flow away from the body from the waist or the hips down? If she's all airy and ghost-like the fabric doesn't have to submit to gravity.

That make me think to the next step for the composition... the magic book of knowledge... what kind of pages ?... what kind of symbols, or runes, writing can I used ?... the most important is the symbolism aspect... but that can't be readable by us... not a real language...

Old egyptian -> whay I don't think to that before... certainly the most adapted with her style... but also as a very old civilization... born of knowledge... but maybe to much used in the hollywoods movies...

Old chinese -> ideograms are very beautiful and graphics... but too much typed in this case...

Just a question around... what's better for the project... a little girl or a little boy ?

(yesterday... while driving towards a park with my family... I imagine to do my two boys... just a thought... but I need more time for more work... mmmh :argh: hahaha )

:scream:

Assemble what you've got finished so far first. We don't want you to end up having to rush to the finish... if there's still time left, then add your two boys. Keep in mind we know what happens if you're not kept on a tight leash :D

James -> You're totally right... you know me... it's bad to have more time to think than to work... :scream: If I choose the "less" solution... I must choose to do a boy (my grand son)... and if remain me some times until the end... I will add the baby... and maybe the cat...
Thanks for your so "good" thoughts

Roshan -> yes... I must be faster now... but in over hand... I want to go to the end of my concept... I don't think to start the next char before the next week... remain me 5 days to take the good decision... or the bad... thanks for your advice dude

Personally, I think a little girl would be more appropriate to be staring in awe at this Angel. If it were a boy... he might not exactly be staring "in awe" at the scantily clad figure... if you know what I mean ;).

This is just a thought... I know you could definitely make a boy work in this scene, a girl just feels more natural to me... *shrug*.

But yeah... everything's looking beautiful!

Sorry, but my surprise comes from the fact that I didn't see any cats in your sketch  , I must have been focused on something else I gess ... :D .
By the way , now that you have (almost) finished the "lady" a very long dress wouldn't make her more légère (light) ?

..hey Laurent :applause:..about dress...i agree with u ....also if u notice u have the pages beneath flowing straight up...and the dress is flowing left and right...this is a bit confusing to the eye.

One humble idea i have is ....

I _ make the pages flow in a small curve (like a wide big C)...just a bit
II _ make dress flow like it's following that flow.

And a small idea  ..i would make the dress not transparent and hide her shoulders and just leave a big V open in front for her Decolte (i hope this is correct...if not ..try worb boobies..lol) to be visible...i think that less obvious skin in your image makes her more erotic and romantic...i hope this makes sence.

hi laurent, as i was looking att the last image of the lady with the dress, it looked stange in my eyes like something didnt fit . the dress i think is not apropriate with the figure. The figure looks elegant and dynamic and the dress looks playfull and like a dress "tingerbell" would have flying to peter pan. maybe make it longer and more open and translucent as u go dont to the pages and up more solid but still silky like as the spirit comes it the scene taking form.

Lemog
11-02-2005, 09:56 AM
JamesMK -> very important thought for me... for the moment, nothing precise was decided about the final framing and her real precise position... and you give me a good information... about the better view... thanks mate  :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

nebezial -> that certainly possible... remember I must add some magical effect in the end...

Dimitris -> I've already do a test in this sense (dress follow the pages...), but without good result... and without curved the pages flow... certainly I must do other test in this way... good suggestion Dimitris...
For the "décolté"... I think to keep this design... it's required by my inspiration... with Mucha's Art... the goal is not to be "erotic"... but to exprim the desire front the knowledge... something as a parallel between the both... but that can change a little, regarding the final framing, and the final setup when all parts will be together.
Thanks for your interest my friend and your always good ideas... :buttrock:

Hi Laurent,:wavey:

really cool update, i see the dress, and read the comments, i see you're disappointed. I like the dress you've made, also if i'm agree with the comments, i think it's really difficult to do something for ourself (c juste ce mot? enfin "pour nous-même" ^^ ) and that "something" are apprecieted by all.

"C'est une question de goût ";)

Anyway i think that this "something" that we made for us, something we like, it's our style, our originality. And we can use this originality, this difference, and upgrade it with support, inspiration, and idea give by friend to make something better and better.

All of this to said, work on the book, change yours ideas, and all will come naturally, see some fashion mag, drink some good beers and i'm sure that your find the way.

Good luck my friend, you do real great work, and i'm sure, anyway the way you'll choose it will be an amazing final image and with a really good style!! :buttrock:

Lemoggie,

I am in total awe of what you do, but can I make this humble suggestion for your angel? :) I think you could make her torso longer, so she would appear more elegant...maybe make her arms a bit longer, if possible? Maybe the upper part of the dress could have a higher cut, and the tendrils of the dress be longer? These are just suggestions. :) Your work is incredible, beautiful, and I could never do what you do. So take this suggestion with a grain of salt. :)

That doesn't seem to be a punition... :scream:

Fine - and now when we settled the right membership fee, to be delivered each morning - I will be rich :scream:

And to catch up on some stuff here...

Boy or girl? I think the idea of having your sons is charming - I'm sure they will be thrilled about it!
But I suggest you wait and see what kind of expression your angel will have in the final setting ... if she turns out a bit erotic it might be easier to convay the idea of knowledge as the temptation if the child is a girl, just a thought...

"to have veins" in french... it's to be lucky...

That is wonderful! So, when I have "searching for veins" as my comments I'm really searching for luck... double meaning, twice as good :)

Book is looking fab - if you have some extra time ( sorry!) you might add some stains to make it look well read ... really lovely

Next update, please!
