I started imagining this guy rolling up is sleeves, or
having a blowtorch and a wrench and stuff in the
car or nearby, as if he intended to tear apart the big
robot by himself , bolt by bolt ,haha

Good choice Laurent... :scream:

just few points, but I know you're just at the beginning...
- for me, angles of the helicopter and plane are too similar...
- the building at left seem to closed the sight, I think that will be better to force the perspective with a open sight, no ? and also that permit to increase the feeling of power of the robot.
- and to finish, the car seem touching the right edge... take a choice, cut the car and we see it more closed... or a bit more far and at left, and so, smaller (I prefer the first...)

In any case... good starting mate... bon courage pour la suite des événements :beer:

LEMOG: thank you mate, these two first ones post are only a line of conduct, many improvement will be brought, details and forms of buildings. Concerning the jeep, I think that I am going to change model and to take a more recent vehicle

I like the way it seems to be shrugging off the missile attacks, but perhaps a more spectacular defense or destruction of the robot would suit the brief better?

Change the angle of the center jet to come straight at us, this should solve the problem that Lemog had previously brought up about the angle of the plane and the helicopter! Looking very good, I'll check back, lata!:thumbsup:

wow,looking real good~i think u could add alil more military armies on the foreground,and i kinda prefer the rawness of the mech,not too detailed with machinery elements.very nice overall~i'll keep an eye on this:)

I'm asking me something about the robot... at force to watching it... you don't find his head a little bit too small... I think that this feeling is re-enforced by the mechanical parts at each side of his head... :)

Hey laurent how you are doing, dude?

good start! The scale and the perspektive angle is convincing.
Maybe it would be good to see some skyscapers with damage and burning parts. I also would paint the fighters flying towards the enemy not away. To increase the feeling of depth and scale it could be an idea to put some little tiny helicopters nearby to the big android. keep it up:thumbsup:

sh@ke: for the skretch I put only a character, but iwould add it later, civilians and military lemog : yes, it is, the head is smaller than the body but it is an effect which I wanted, so that the body made more impressive

Good idea on the level of the articulation of the chest, that visually reduces the mass of the body, and now, the small head seems less awkward. Good work laurent :thumbsup:

Hey is it supposed to have a floating upper body? I like how crisp the building behind the robot looks like. If you can do that kind of detail all over the picture then it will be worth the wait :thumbsup:

Hi Laurent! Great concept, and you're so far into this, wow! I love the way the robot is coming on, has a real mance about it. Is there anyway you could get more emotion into the body of the army guy in the front, to say the jets seem to have turned tail and fled, he looks like he's enjoying the sunrise rather than being hunted by a ginormous robot! Maybe just a little tweaking with arms and legs, as if he's ready to leap into the vehicle. Of course there may be a reason he's stood like that, apologies if there is.

But looking good this far, can't wait to see more!

Good start , like the concept and the anlge of viewx!
But try to avoid the "detailling process step by step..."
Makke an entire painting and refine each time... You'll keep more motion and colors impressions this way... My advice ;)

the bridge and the building are awesome! how did you painted all those little windows? a lot of copy-pasting and adjusting it to the perspective later I guess?... they looks very realistic, good job


the only thing that bothers me a little bit is the texture on the robot, it looks somehow like a cheap toy, but it's probably late for changing it so... you are the artist here

Nice man!! It looks like it's done on a 3D programe! But remember, you don't always need detail in every part of the image because it could make it too stiff, I only just learnt that and it's true! Just add details to teh parts in which you want the audience to focus on! Overall good job so far! Nice Idea!:thumbsup:

Nice and accurate building work! :)

After your done with the building you should make the shading on the robot a lot better. Maybe more tighter specular and some ambience lights from the buildings.

Big respect for trying this in 2D :thumbsup:

it's looking very nice, but i think you should give him a neck :) he looks a little weird like this, even a short neck would do it..
also i hope you'll put some people running away in terror in the foreground! :D that would fill the image with emotions and would give it more energy.

It's looking good, especially the buildings on the right. A few points ~

I'd remove the building on the left - it's very intrusive.

Get rid of the blue sky - I don't think there's a place for blue in this picture.

I'd make the robot much bigger. What about having it stepping towards the camera, with it's foot about where the subway railings are (edit: I don't mean on top of the railings, I mean at that distance from the camera)

Have the planes going in roughly the same direction, i.e. following the same arc. This will dramatically increase the feeling of speed.

baron Impossible: The building on the left is still only a part of the sketch. When I am above going to work, I am going to change the angle. Concerning the postion of the plane, I am also going to change it so that it is not any more in the adaptation of the helicpter. For the blue, it's right, he has to make nothing there, I am going to change it. Thank you for your constructifs comments

Good progress all over but the first thing i saw when looking at this was that the robot looks like he is pulling a cheesy disco saturday night fever esque pose. It makes him quite comical instead of something to be feared... something to think about before you get too far
