09-10-2005, 11:04 PM

09-11-2005, 10:06 AM
below : thank mate, it's perhaps my only sketch with more modifications
NOOB : Many thank
09-11-2005, 10:29 AM
nice sense of scale, and the picture looks fun , too!
I started imagining this guy rolling up is sleeves, or
having a blowtorch and a wrench and stuff in the
car or nearby, as if he intended to tear apart the big
robot by himself , bolt by bolt ,haha
09-11-2005, 02:05 PM
thank mate. I keep this concept but i will change my robot with more details
09-11-2005, 02:17 PM
LOVE your concept coloring, can't wait to see more, the depth of the scene is great, shadow casting, I'm looking forward to the more detailed refined work you can put out.
09-13-2005, 06:38 AM
finaly i choice this concept and i work on this
09-13-2005, 12:40 PM
it sure looks good and very promising! Keep up the good work!
09-13-2005, 01:09 PM
Good choice Laurent... :scream:
just few points, but I know you're just at the beginning...
- for me, angles of the helicopter and plane are too similar...
- the building at left seem to closed the sight, I think that will be better to force the perspective with a open sight, no ? and also that permit to increase the feeling of power of the robot.
- and to finish, the car seem touching the right edge... take a choice, cut the car and we see it more closed... or a bit more far and at left, and so, smaller (I prefer the first...)
In any case... good starting mate... bon courage pour la suite des événements
09-13-2005, 10:44 PM
NinjASS: Many thank
LEMOG: thank you mate, these two first ones post are only a line of conduct, many improvement will be brought, details and forms of buildings. Concerning the jeep, I think that I am going to change model and to take a more recent vehicle
09-13-2005, 10:54 PM
.,...and perhaps a more animated robot?
I like the way it seems to be shrugging off the missile attacks, but perhaps a more spectacular defense or destruction of the robot would suit the brief better?
In any case - keep on keeping on
09-13-2005, 11:05 PM
Concerning the jeep, I think that I am going to change model and to take a more recent vehicle
Good idea... en plus, ça fera moins cliché, moins film d'outreatlantique :scream:
09-13-2005, 11:16 PM
can't wait what's going to come out of this, hmm jet planes, big buildings, good luck man :)
09-14-2005, 08:59 AM
Avatarist: I think that I would change the position of one of the arms of the robot of a way has that he leans on a high rise, and destruct this, the other detail of destruct will bet also added, at the level of the street
LEMOG: yes you are right and in more the jeep makes too much 70, it does not stick with F15
Korline: merci, j'espère réussir les détails des divers éléments
09-14-2005, 11:12 AM
i begin to work on the robot, particulary the head
09-14-2005, 11:31 AM
Change the angle of the center jet to come straight at us, this should solve the problem that Lemog had previously brought up about the angle of the plane and the helicopter! Looking very good, I'll check back, lata!
hehe! giant robots seems to be the thing this time around. :) more more more!!! :wip::wip::wip:
09-14-2005, 08:01 PM
hey, welcome dude. good to see you again and i see you have a great start so far. The design of the robot is looking good so far. keep it up and will try and keep up with it.
goodluck and cheers
09-15-2005, 04:02 AM
wow, looking real good~i think u could add alil more military armies on the foreground, and i kinda prefer the rawness of the mech, not too detailed with machinery elements.very nice overall~i'll keep an eye on this:)
09-15-2005, 06:15 AM
I'm asking me something about the robot... at force to watching it... you don't find his head a little bit too small... I think that this feeling is re-enforced by the mechanical parts at each side of his head... :)
09-15-2005, 04:20 PM
Hey laurent how you are doing, dude?
good start! The scale and the perspektive angle is convincing.
Maybe it would be good to see some skyscapers with damage and burning parts. I also would paint the fighters flying towards the enemy not away. To increase the feeling of depth and scale it could be an idea to put some little tiny helicopters nearby to the big android. keep it up:thumbsup:
09-15-2005, 05:29 PM
wow... great idea... keep it up man!!!
09-17-2005, 10:04 PM
Beelow: yes, I think that I would change the angle and the place of the first plane
slav: Thank mate
arc80; Many thank
sh@ke: for the skretch I put only a character, but iwould add it later, civilians and military lemog : yes, it is, the head is smaller than the body but it is an effect which I wanted, so that the body made more impressive
09-17-2005, 10:07 PM
details on the robot
09-19-2005, 06:38 AM
Good idea on the level of the articulation of the chest, that visually reduces the mass of the body, and now, the small head seems less awkward. Good work laurent
09-20-2005, 06:36 AM
09-21-2005, 04:59 PM
Wow! Cool sketching, mate.
09-21-2005, 06:26 PM
Hey is it supposed to have a floating upper body? I like how crisp the building behind the robot looks like. If you can do that kind of detail all over the picture then it will be worth the wait
09-21-2005, 07:05 PM
Hi Laurent! Great concept, and you're so far into this, wow! I love the way the robot is coming on, has a real mance about it. Is there anyway you could get more emotion into the body of the army guy in the front, to say the jets seem to have turned tail and fled, he looks like he's enjoying the sunrise rather than being hunted by a ginormous robot! Maybe just a little tweaking with arms and legs, as if he's ready to leap into the vehicle. Of course there may be a reason he's stood like that, apologies if there is.
But looking good this far, can't wait to see more!
09-22-2005, 12:10 PM
thank for your comments
09-24-2005, 10:25 PM
some detail on the robot the metro bridge and a building, the color of the building is just a try
09-25-2005, 09:28 AM
Break some of those buildings up destroy some of them, it would look more menacing!:wise:
09-25-2005, 09:33 AM
Hi man^^ nice to see you here^^
Good start , like the concept and the anlge of viewx!
But try to avoid the "detailling process step by step..."
Makke an entire painting and refine each time... You'll keep more motion and colors impressions this way... My advice ;)
09-25-2005, 10:13 AM
cool concept.very nice painting.i agree with beelow.want to see some broken buildings ,cars or planes.
09-26-2005, 07:03 AM
Beelow: thank you, yes, I go destroy some buildings, especially that where the robot puts the hand. I am also going to add vehicle and some will be destroyed
NEOZOOM: thank you; I understand what you say, but this way of making is not usual at home and I admit to be sad has to use him
Xric7: thanks to you. As I said it has beelow, I go destrored some elements in the compo
09-26-2005, 07:53 PM
the bridge and the building are awesome! how did you painted all those little windows? a lot of copy-pasting and adjusting it to the perspective later I guess?... they looks very realistic, good job
the only thing that bothers me a little bit is the texture on the robot, it looks somehow like a cheap toy, but it's probably late for changing it so... you are the artist here
Good luck Laurent!
09-26-2005, 10:48 PM
Thanks to you, yes I use paste that I adjust then with the tool twisting
09-26-2005, 10:53 PM
I worked little on a second building, it stays has detailler the shadows and the sides
09-27-2005, 01:03 AM
wow, impressive. the buildings look very very good. 21/2 d? lol! great work keep it up mate, keep on rocking!
09-27-2005, 06:43 AM
Major work on this building... chapeau l'artiste

wow this looks fantastic! I love the perspective, gret work!
09-27-2005, 09:33 PM

09-27-2005, 09:38 PM

09-28-2005, 06:50 AM
You complete really a spectacular work on these buildings Laurent, I'm really deafened... je bois ça comme du ptit lait... bravo Laurent
09-28-2005, 10:06 AM
Hello laurent! you did a very good work on building and bridge!! awesome stuff! i like perspective angle!! maybe try to add some destroyed elements like beelow said! and maybe add cars or another props on road...Bonne chance Laurent!! i'll bee back see your next update!!:)
09-28-2005, 10:51 AM
love the lightng, nice sense of scale.
09-28-2005, 10:58 PM
Lemog: thank mate
fiolka alexandre: thank you, I go bit by bit destroyed some buildings and I think of adding different vehicles civilian and miltaire
09-28-2005, 11:43 PM
wow, damm dude, you have some detail on those buildings, just think it's maybe to clean, you could add some weare and teare to make that look naturall, awsome job on the detail
09-29-2005, 03:26 AM
whoa~very slick stuff u've got here~great updates mate!catch ya later:)would love to see more:scream:
09-29-2005, 04:30 AM
p can not believe u did those buildins by hand... it just amazing! no words...
09-29-2005, 06:19 PM
Korline: Thank mate, I foresaw of destroy some building, but me does not understand the term " weare and teare "
Sh@ke: Many thank
Mr Thurner: Thank for your comments
09-29-2005, 06:28 PM
work on the others building (again one or two and it's the end for this part)pfffff
09-29-2005, 06:34 PM
Nice man!! It looks like it's done on a 3D programe! But remember, you don't always need detail in every part of the image because it could make it too stiff, I only just learnt that and it's true! Just add details to teh parts in which you want the audience to focus on! Overall good job so far! Nice Idea!
09-29-2005, 08:21 PM
Nice and accurate building work! :)
After your done with the building you should make the shading on the robot a lot better. Maybe more tighter specular and some ambience lights from the buildings.
Big respect for trying this in 2D
09-29-2005, 09:35 PM
ooh giant robots!! :D
it's looking very nice, but i think you should give him a neck :) he looks a little weird like this, even a short neck would do it..
also i hope you'll put some people running away in terror in the foreground! :D that would fill the image with emotions and would give it more energy.
09-30-2005, 06:07 PM
Thank all for your nice comments
09-30-2005, 07:37 PM
work on the texture of the road
10-02-2005, 02:40 PM
some details of the street
10-02-2005, 04:33 PM
It's looking good, especially the buildings on the right. A few points ~
I'd remove the building on the left - it's very intrusive.
Get rid of the blue sky - I don't think there's a place for blue in this picture.
I'd make the robot much bigger. What about having it stepping towards the camera, with it's foot about where the subway railings are (edit: I don't mean on top of the railings, I mean at that distance from the camera)
Have the planes going in roughly the same direction, i.e. following the same arc. This will dramatically increase the feeling of speed.
10-03-2005, 11:44 AM
baron Impossible: The building on the left is still only a part of the sketch. When I am above going to work, I am going to change the angle. Concerning the postion of the plane, I am also going to change it so that it is not any more in the adaptation of the helicpter. For the blue, it's right, he has to make nothing there, I am going to change it. Thank you for your constructifs comments
10-03-2005, 11:53 AM
Good progress all over but the first thing i saw when looking at this was that the robot looks like he is pulling a cheesy disco saturday night fever esque pose. It makes him quite comical instead of something to be feared... something to think about before you get too far
10-03-2005, 05:07 PM
Thank you, I do not find that the postion is funny but if the other persons thinks of it, that they dont hesite no has to say it to me, I would change it
10-03-2005, 06:43 PM
I agree with making the robot a bit more dynamic. I like where this is heading tho!!
10-04-2005, 05:05 PM
thank for your comments, ok i perhaps change the position of the robot
10-26-2005, 07:06 PM
just a quick pop in :) ur buildings look so real, all that hand painted? damn, u r good... I hope u'll keep that quality with the planes and robot in the back.. right now its a bit too much contrast, but I have no doubt it will get better and better thru time :) keep up the great work man!
11-14-2005, 11:14 AM
I'm really sad... no update here ?
c'mon Laurent... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
11-14-2005, 12:38 PM
yo yo yo Laurent!! What are you doing man? where are you? i hope you are working on!
Bon boulot en tout cas à bientôt!
