This was made with a light set to area, shadows to area, light is a disk 300 units in size, accuracy 100%, cube is at default 200x200x200 units. The ligt is targeted to the cube, so is perpendicular to it. Wowever, as you can see, the top edge of the cube is not projecting an area shadow.

Edit: the cube is resting on a floor object.

Anyone knows why this is happening?

I just tried the described scene in 9.5 here and don't see any such proplem. If you want to email me your scene I'll have a look at it. spamcatch_at_mvpny-dot-com.

Since I'm workin with the demo, I'll send you screen captures of the light settings. Remember that the light is targeting the cube.

Thank you,

I discovered what happened: The size of the disk was 300x1. Setting it to 300x300 took care of the problem.

Thanks anyway.
