I'll choose the smaller headed one. Shoulders are important for that pose.

thanks for the comments.
here's a small update. I started the ears and hair....

damn. hands are harder than ears! :surprised
I think my hand still needs a lot of tweaking. I am trying to walk that line between poorly detailed realism and well stylized cartoon. heh.
Comments appreciated... although it's still not much of an update.

Yes, a shy vampire! I'm glad the emotion was conveyed. :)
Here is another update:

What a cool style! Looks almost like a cut-out! Keep pushing it into that style, I reckon!

thanks Fasty! :)
Here is a new render. I started his jacket and took his glasses off. I think the emotion in his eyes is expressed clearer without the glasses.
Any comments?
I think the model is close to finished. Some details here and there and then I will see how long I can procrastinate rigging before the challenge deadline is through. :D

nerdy shy lil' dracul
what a character.
cool job  and it'll be cooler if you put more definitions on some areas like the shoes and his jacket. and about the eyes they look great, hopefully you could make them livelier by enchanting their material esp. setting on his lenses, make them have a caustic or something. Okay cant wait for the final pose and scene. See ya :)

love it love it love it!!! great style and i love the character!!! perhaps though the fangs could be shorter or maybe fatter... i don't think they are toon enough? man that makes no sense... but anyways... looking damn great! it reminds me of some depressed heart broken, vampire, emo kid! (maybe not)

raden: thx! good tips also. i'm in the process of adding detail... although it isn't enough to warrant an update yet, despite the amount of work i've put in since last...
which reminds me...
ever hear of the 80 / 20 rule? basically it states that 20% of a person's efforts generates 80% of the person's results. (or expressed another way, 20% of one's results absorb 80% of ones' efforts.)
i was just thinking how that applies to my modelling. It usually takes me about 20% of the time to get 80% finished. And then it takes me the remaining 80% to finish that last 20% of details. :surprised not sure if that makes any sense, but does anyone know what i'm talking about?
suffix: thanks alot for the compliments! I agree 100% about the fangs. I've been trying to come up with a solution to make them "pop" out more. i'm thinking about upping the self-illumination and maybe even toon rendering just the fangs. not sure....
shyMelancholyEmoVamp.... heh.

heya somlor
yep i know that 20to80% rule, but sometimes its other way around:shrug: especially on finishing, they can be so addictive you know tweaking this and that.
anyhow you still got one more weeks to add details and the scene, so goodluck :)
PS: so where are the chickens?dont you need some of them to bite for

Good work! Definitely do something about the teeth. Maybe pull out the top lips to accomodate them.

:buttrock: your vampire rocks :buttrock:
keep up the good work, the style is excellent, I can only imagine (:p) the various funny situations this character could get himself into.
Btw, the transition you made from your drawings to 3d is practically seamless.
better animate the girl ... no ?

Thanks for the feedback guys!
I was planning to reopen this project for animation in the future, though I'm not much of animator. He does sort of beg to awkwardly waddle around though, huh. Maybe when my $100 Motionbuilder arrives. :xtreme:
And Cif, yes I would definitely love to animate that girl. :D
