View Full Version : facial acting- sad girl animation wip!
FabioMSilva 09-02-2005, 01:06 AM hey guys!
here's my first animation wip after reading Stop staring
http://pwp.netcabo.pt/0257549601/cgtalk/afterjason.avi - the soundtrack is from Saikano.
waddya guys think? i'm still not happy with many things(and ive already spent hours in finesse, only in acting tough, the lip sync is still pretty much untouched) , specially head tilts eyes movement&speed & brows up&downs.
if u guys like it, or hate it, C&C all the way!
cheers!

Ok...well the ideas behind the current poses you're choosing are good....but right now it's not working at all.
1) Your initial pose is very awkward
2) The animation is very jerky
3) In the period of indecision, your character just doesn't want to stand still! He moves extremely fast and jerkily (as mentioned above)
Hope that helps! :)

some of your facial shapes aren't deforming the model correctly, its coming up with some odd looking imperfections, and i think the area of influence for the shapes is too small, it looks liek she's a puppet or something not alive. remmber what the book said, first wide and narrow, then open close then all the other refinements, work on ur shapes alittle before you continue make them feel more natural, pull more of that skin so that it isn't just a small area thats moving, everything has to gradate out from your influence
yeah i read the book too, great book.
