Hi Everyone!

For a project i'm trying to set a trace of petrol under fire.
I consider to use fluids for this task, but i'm not too sure how i could get this working.
My attempts didnt went too well so far.
What i did:
I took one of the flame preset and positioned a volume emitter directly above.
I scaled the emitter to represent the trace and let it emit fuel only.
But the fuel just dont start to get as a whole under fire. The fire just burns brighter where the flame and the volume emitter intersects.

Painting the fuel also doesn't worked too well.

Some Tips, maybe?

I am no expert, but it seems like you do not have enough density in your container to match the temperature you're generating, try bumping up the Density and see what happens ....should give a more interesting simulation for you...

Thanks for your reply!
My problem is, i need this effect in slow motion.
I have to see how the petrol inflames and walks along the trail.

I tried to move the emitter with the Flame along a cylinder who emits the fuel, but the fuel doesn't get inflamed.
I played a lot with reaction speed and ignition temperature, but it doesn't seem to help

Is the effect i'm trying to achieve possible with fluids at all?

I'm not sure if I follow exactly what you are trying to do...your fuel should cause a readtion to take place, and now it does nothing you say ?? Are you certian that your emiter is attached to your container ? Try selecting your Fluid1 and adding a new eimiter, having it emit 5/5/5 and then simply keyframe it in the motion you want. Turn up the swirl and turbulance values in your Fluid shape. and add some turbulance to your emitter as well. Turn the fuel reaction temp to .001 so you are sure that it is going to ignite.

For some reason the Emitter Turbulence did it for me.

THX again!

good news then...
