ice2wrist 09-01-2005, 04:28 PM Im building a new computer and i wanted to build a workstation/game machine and i wanted to know does the quadra fx line of cards do well with games or should i just get 7800 gt card
i use maya 7, and im not into creating movies and such.

I would say get the GF and use the NVStrap feature in RivaTuner. You're in high school. Save your money.

and yeah, the 7800 is likely to be just fine for your purposes;)

isn't Quadra an air purifier?...
anyways...if you say you have money to buy a quadro card then get one, they are worth the money for professionals, for hobby purposes just get a geforce card.

I can buy 2-3 7800GTX for the price of a Quadro.
Hell, I can even buy a brand new system for the price of that Quadro.
anyways...if you say you have money to buy a quadro card then get one, they are worth the money for professionals, for hobby purposes just get a geforce card.

I have the 7800GT and running Maya 7 and everything runs fine.. again guess it depends if you are a hobbist like me or are making a run at professional level.. if it is the former then go with the Quadro.
