i think your width of the line is 2 if you use the line tool, otherwise, be sure the alised checkbox is checked. also be sure the zoom is 100%, less or more will be crappppp :)
peace :)

nope, the line width is 1 and the zoom scale is 100%... i think photoshop's line tool just sucks when aliased? :[

i think there is a problem in your version, or the the system OR :) your screen
look to the pic i provided
i did it in Photoshop
may be you draw as vector shape
if so
be sure to activate another layer after you draw the line
and see what happen :)
peace

It's just the line tool that sucks. (when used aliased)
The workaround:
Use the pen tool and set it to 1 px
click once on the start position of youre line
hols shift and click on the end position.
result: a perfect aliased line :)

I seldom use the line tool because there's a little tool which makes line creation a little easier;
Use the pencil tool (hit 'B' twice), select a 1px brush, draw a dot where your line should start; and while holding shift draw a dot where the line ends. Lines should be cleaner.
Mixed results (don't ask why, the pencil seems to work better, even though I haven't tried all the angles:)

Check your pixel aspect ratio. If it's not square (1.0) then Photoshop can't make a very nice antialiased version of any lines. (this is under image > pixel aspect ratio)

No, there is nothing wrong with the line tool, you can draw lines with it that are almost as smooth as a baby's butt ;)
100% zoom is important, draw as shape and after you're done deactivate or hide (Ctrl+H) the path. It's my impression that you're adding several lines to the same shape layer and that you have the paths still active/visible.
