Title: The Workstation
Name: Stacy Michalcewicz
Country: USA
Software: Painter, Photoshop
Hi everybody! ^^ I haven't posted at CGTalk in a long time, so I figured I'd drop in with a recent enough picture just to say hi.
My coffee bot was officially oudated. Replacement was necessary if I was to continue filling my tummy with essential factory made liquids, packed with msg and red dye #2. So here he is! New coffee bot fresh from the packaging!! Fully equipped with Espresso Machine, shelving, refrigerator, microwave, stereo system, and two choices of slurpee flavor. My previous one has retired and spends his days playing cards with my Octobaby.
I hate having two setups for games and computer. So I finally integrated the two. Joyous day! Now I don't have to turn to face another screen. <_<; That was starting to get tiring.
And dude, what's with all these holes in my floors!! Stinkin' mice!!
Oh my, this took a while. Especially labeling the games and cds. But now it's done! This is me in my ideal Workstation. If it were on the floor, I could just lay out a sleeping bag next to it and never move anywhere. Oh boy, I'm lame. Didn't count the hours spent on this, but there were many. Photoshop cs and Painter 8
Partly done for bedroom interior design for Ninja Talk Show ASHCAN. Coming soon!
Posters on the wall are little clips of NTS characters: TU and ARIYAN. Lines by HOON and colors by me! (they're coming soon too! woohoo)
Thanks for taking a peek. ^^

Curious perspective:) Itīs another good point of view. The high-heeled shoes seems to be smaller comparatively with the girl feet, perhaps those shoes doesnīt belong to her:)

Oh, I agree with Godzi about the Wacom, LOL!:D

Hey Juji nice to see you here! I am from DA if you hav'nt noticed ;)

Hope to see you more out here, have fun!

PS: never; never put a hot mug on your wacom :)
That's the first thing I thought of as well when I opened the pic...got this funny feeling in my stomach that something was about to go wrong with the coffee and the tablet and the mecca and all http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon10.gif But hey, it's your tablet, I'm sure you can do with it as you please :D Absolutely great work on the painting by the way http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gif Only now saw the mouse with the bazooka...love it :buttrock:

Um Guys, given the model year of the brand new coffee machine bot I'm pretty sure that the tablet is the WACOM Intuos 9 which, as you all know, is impervious to hot mug damage.
You've got to love WACOM and their high degree of customer influence!
This is a really great work. I opened up this thread and instantlysaid "Oh Wow... that's cool!"
Juji: So what's the story behind the blown out floor in the corner? Is that where the old coffee maker blew up?

I want to have a Workstation like this!!
cool~~
Goro: Thank you so much Goro! That is a great compliment because I'm a big fan of your art, you are very talented. :)
Godzi: thank you! Hehe, maybe I'm hoping my wacom will break so I can upgrade to a Cintiq :D
Gonzalo: I tried to make an interesting perspective. I am practicing because it is my weekness. But I'm so glad you like it! My informal shoes I usually buy too big cuz I like 'em roomy, but high heels have to fit just right, so that may be why they look smaller. Or maybe I just didn't pay attention when I drew them. :p
IdoHart: Hi! Glad you are here as well, and thanks for dropping in!
LSKnight: You're right! It must be a better model. But you'd think there'd be more gizmos on it. Didn't think to add those :p The holes in the floor are from the mice with bazookas. They are having a war. Hehe

This is awesome, you've really pushed up your talent to higher standards. I have no crits for this one. Maybe some day we'll get a chance to see those "bazooka mice" right?
I hope as well to paint like you in the future, cause I've spent so much time doing 3d for the last four years and I'm still not good enough as a 3d or 2d artist. :banghead:
but I'll stay in front of my G5 until I'm blind or dead.

Jiji: Well, there isn't a lot you can do to add to perfection except make it invulnerable to hot coffee mugs!
Mice wars... ah yes, a poetic statement to the depth of concentration that an artist can go to that she doesn't even notice that mice with bazookas are fighting it out in the same room! Deep! :)
I suppose that's one of those killer Sony 24" wide screen monitors too?

Wow, thats ACE!
I love all the detail on it - i could look at it for hours.
Even though it is framed using a fairly standard angle, and everything is stationary, the fisheye lens makes it look very dynamic. I love the design of the robot, the workstation and the girls' headphones (is the gal in the pic you?)
Any chance of a supa-high res pic? The full size version just aint big enough, dammit!
Top notch work

This is amazing, really funny and great attention to detail. I will buy one of those robots once you get them on the market, and the bazooka mice deserve their own comic strip.
I love how all the PS games are nearly real

Haha... that's great!
I love the mouse with the rocket launcher!!
I think there's a few 'mistakes' with the perspective and you could've employed some tricks to get the perspective working better for you (like curving the perspective in the near left foreground perhaps?) but with all this detail and humour in the image it really doesn't matter and possibly adds to the charm. I love 'your' pose and the expression on your face.
Fab image!!

Great work, so full of humor and superb technique! My only minor beef is with the perspective on the games next to the monitor, its probably correct but it is so harsh it is distracting.

I adore the inticricate work, the wonderful smooth coloring, and the Pocky! Gotta have your Pocky <3. It's a marvelous piece, really... the expression on her face reminds me of myself. *laughs* First page, this one, for sure. ^^

good lord this is absolutely stunning! incredible work here. this is one for my favorites collection.
the only crit i have is that the high heels are a litle out of place. it just seems unnecessary; nothing else in the scene shows her to have that sort of 'femininity'.
