i am looking for a way to create particles that tumble and rotate AND contain an image from a folder. is this possible? with any plug in anyone can think of? i am thinking along the lines of the image hose that was included with painter quite a few years back. i have a client with an amzing amount of product and would like to create an environment where all their products move past the camera in no particular order. not really getting excited about doing it all by hand using 3d layers.

ideas?

thanks

Trapcode Particular with custom particles. See online video tutorial here. (http://www.trapcode.com/in_action/particular_custom.html)

tried that. infact trying to find a way for it to work for me. its rendering as i type this. i suppose i am looking for a more 3d solution. particular offers no way for the particles themselves to "tumble" without animating that tumble in a layer then using that for the particle. unless i am missing something....

Yea, that's true. Custom particles will always be facing the camera. But like you said, you can animate images tumble in a precomp and then use that as your custom particle source.
