View Full Version : Maya Rendering the wrong camera

maybe someone can help with my little situation. i haven't been able to get the Right camera rendering for a week, though a playblast works fine.

I'm on Mac OSX powerbook g4, running Maya 6.5 and working in a 20mb sized .mb file.

I have one camera:

(pasted__pasted__pasted__camera-3 (renderable)

the angle and maneuver is already animated.

In render globals under the Camera pulldown I have this

front
(pasted__pasted__pasted__camera-3 (renderable)
perp (renderable)
Side
Top
ELFDefaultMenuItem
perp (renderable)
ELFDefaultMenuItem
perp (renderable)

Now apparently I have 3 perps, since I just rendered another still, i'm not sure if that is right.

When I select perp (renderable) it renders a still of camera 3
when I select and render camera 3, it renders perspective or something else.
I can't the render camera 3 animation at all.

I've tried selecting every object, camera, and light manually, cut and pasted it
into a brand new file but that doesn't solve the problem.

All I want to do is render camera 3
but when I render say, 10 frames of the animation with camera 3 selected, it renders 10 frames in persp or something.
This has been really time consuming and frustrating trying to figure it out myself.
Does anyone know how to either disable perspective (renderable) if possible or get rid of it all together?
any help would be so very appreciated!

try disabling the "Renderable" flag for all cameras other than your RenderCam
you can find that in the Attr.Editor for the camera, under the Output Settings
