Hello, I would like to achieve something:
I would like to drive the transparency of multiples object (handled with the same shader)by the distance with another object (a null for example) that i can move.

I know how to setup a simple expression with the "dist" fonction but with this solution I can't simply have one shader, I need to have one shader by object to "catch" the right transparency value. This solution is not very good because I have something like 100 separated objects

Well, I come from lightwave and I've had a node "gradiant" that had an input parameter with the position between an object...
XSI is a powerfull software who I'm sure have a good solution for this kind of things.
The most confortable thing would be a node in my shader tree where i can input the name of my null, this node need to calculate the value from my null to the actual "calculated pixel"

Hum.. I doesn't know if i'm clear enough. ;-)

Then thanks for this great comunity and ... sorry for my crappy english
