I got stiffed on the last 3 rebates I sent in for tech products I got. I was stupid and forgot to keep copies of my documents and now all three said they either do not have my UPC or do not have my rebate request at all. How many people end up sending copies of their rebate before ever getting anything? How many get it without any problem? $300 down the drain!!! ::cries::

Are you refferring to postal rebates?

It's a well known marketing strategies, because it's proven that most people don't request their rebates, and when they do, they get screwed ;)

Typically, I do get my rebates, but it takes them several months... Staples and Office Depot are the two stores that I typically buy stuff from that requires rebates... The key is to send in the stuff the day you buy it... and make sure to scan a copy of the stuff and save it on hard drive and email it to yourself so that you can prove to them that you did your part. I think that mostly, what they do is wait the few months since they have some mega bank account and the rebates are really just interest that they are getting back from the bank, so it takes them several months to get the money back out of the deal to get their little roi.
