View Full Version : Maya -> Max -> Maya
Mikkel Jans 11-04-2002, 06:27 PM Does anybody know where to find a very good connection between Maya and Max?
I need it to export/import about everything like:
Weight Maps, Joints, IK, Expressions, Keyframes, Polygons, UV, Shaders.
Both from Max to Maya and Maya to Max.
Thanks

If you are looking to export/import almost everything then I suspect your only option is polytrans from okino (www.okino.com) with the necessary plugins I believe it runs about $800. The only other option that I know of is deep exploration from right hemisphere but I do not know if it will work for everything you are looking for. there should be demos for both, the polytrans demo might be an older build of the program so If you run into hitches send them a e-mail they can compile a newer one (I ran into this problem when looking into polytrans to connect LW with Maya)

Kaydara makes some great plugins that import and export the .fbx format they developed. It retains alot of the origional scene characteristics such as animation and rigging. It's amazing and free!
www.kaydara.com select customer services menu at top/then download in the dropdown menu/finally fbx plugins to download plugins.
