View Full Version : Video stabilization in AE
bzudo 08-26-2005, 05:17 PM I've tried using the motion tracking in AE to stablize a hand-held shot. Everytime I do I'm left with numerous white markers that follow the shots shakey-ness. It doesn't stabilize the shot. Am I to move the white markers by hand to the same pixel location, thus creating a stabilized shot?

Motion-tracking does just that, you designate a pixel/area and AE tracks the motion of the selected pixel/area. Basic use for motion tracking is the ability add external footage or animation as an overlay on top of the original footage to give it the appearance that it is actually in the original shot.
What version are you using? 6.5 PRO has a stabilizer built in works fairly well.
