I want export .3ds with maya7 ?

The best way that I know to get a file from Maya to 3DS Max is to use the free FBX plugins from Alias. You can download the 3DS Max plugin from here (http://www.alias.com/glb/eng/products-services/product_details.jsp?productId=1900004). So you export the Maya file as FBX and then import it into 3DS Max.

Using the FBX format would probably be the quickest...

Deep Explorer from Right Hemisphere can convert between several different formats if you'd rather go that route - but I believe it would require that you have both Maya and Max installed...

Download the Maya 7 bonus tools. It has the .3ds plug in included with it. I do agree that the FBX format may be a better way to go though.
