View Full Version : Matte Painting - Ruined city Infini-EX (first try)
roger1980boy 08-26-2005, 08:32 AM Inspired by all of those matte painting geniuses, i definitly want to create my fantasy art work. this is a theme poster i created for my project, City Infini-EX, which i want to make it into a first person shooting game ..
there is certainly a lot to improve , including the sense of perspective and the integration of color.... however, i quite like the mood of this poster, :) the origin picture is taken from the city of shenzhen in china, which is my hometown..
feel free to comment on it, thank u!

awsome pic, but somehow i have the feeling that the nearest tower doesnt fit to the background and especially not to the floor
maybe u can add a little bit more fire and black smoke

thanks for ur compliment. i think u r right. actually, i also found the value of the foregroud tower is a bit stronge. in fact, originally, i intentionally darkened this tower, expecting to drag people's focus to the foreground... now it seems a bit overdo......
black smoke?! great idea. yup, let me think about how to composite the black smoke with the towers .......:)

hey this is looking promising , but your 2 point perspective seems a bit off on the building to th right , im not sure if this is intended or not? or are they going by 2 different points then the rest?
keep it up , I love the foggy loook

modified the foreground building a little bit, add some fog to blend the tower into the lava floor with a smoother transition..... and strengthen the color of the background military base.... as to the building of to the right, the prospective of which offsets, it's a bit difficult to modified at this stage, ha, let's just assume there is a angle offset between the two towers! . :)
i also increase the brightness of the lava to make a hot spot.....
i think this one is better.
