kaylon: nice one. I like the how you only see a cropped silhouette of the foremost figure.

rawwad: cool! you can really sense action and movement.

Hexaditidom: I agree, I don't usually draw violent stuff...

... which is why I took this in a little different direction.

Pen = 15 minut
Photoshop 6 + mouse = 3.5 hours

this one - is the first sketch i really like on my own ;)

kaylon - very impressive for 10 minutes! are you going to paint it further later?
rawwad - nice dynamic, and what is it there with their sun?
-Brittany- - i like colour-tones, but why can't we see another couple of horse's legs?

i like it too. good work.
what i think you could improve:
the shirt and his hands receive too much light. the shirt is just plain white, while the shoulders and the trousers receive shadows...perhaps you could redefine that and it would be even better ;)

cheers

Rawwed..that is very dynamic..i love it...

Brittany..I love the pastel quality to this superb..not sure about the back leg of the horse, but can understand how this would be tough to visualise.

Butch...That is the cleanest Cowboy shirt I've ever seen, love his belt buckle :)

Amy.. That's the best idea yet...never imagined that one :) ..and the look on that cow's face is priceless :) ..

Gweney..A gunfighters worst nightmare :) ... like it..

Captain..that is a great sketch..love the proportions, I've always said..anatomy does not need to be correct or "by the book" as long as it looks good.. and he looks great:)

Quoted for total agreement.

Thank you :) I think she looks like she wants a fight. My money would definitely be on the cow, especially since 'boy' turned out looking like either Beavis or Butthead and is probably a huge wuss.

This time I focused solely on this action pose-thing and drew stickmen beforehand. It's ugly all right. ;)

The Pledge 7/7 (phew ;)

And now for some leisure... :)

kaylon: great quickie, very atmospheric.
rawwad: monumental capcure of movement. I have to admit to a bit of stealing your idea. ;)
Brittany: Hey, why's the horse sad?
captaineasychord: My, isn't he big. ;)

1 hour PSP Cowboy Fight (I ran out of time and so the background is pretty plan and simple.)

Please comment/ critique. I would like all the help I can get in getting better. Thanks!

quigly: well, his poncho looks a bit like scorched earth ;). I'm not very good myself, but I think you should study fabric as a 3D object, not as a flat "page" with holes in it. Good luck!

Hey, Thanks for the tip. I do see what you mean. In my weak attempt at making it look 3d, it really just made it look bad =).

Pencil on typing paper, colored in Photoshop with a mouse

Drawing: ~45 minutes
Photoshop: ~30 minutes
Total: 1 hour, 25 minutes

Not my best effort, especially on the coloring... a bit rushed to finish up the pledges, and hadn't really gotten used to mouse-painting in Photoshop. Done on time, post late due to image prep.

Total time 45 minutes. Blocked out in ArtRage, and additional sketching in OpenCanvas/GIMP;

Just returned from a 2.5 day road trip - wasn't sure if I was going to make it for the last pledge picture. Here it is, if the deadline has not elapsed.

This is a VERY rough picture, and the least amount of time was taken on this by far!

quick doodle, nothing special.

I'm a bit late with my pledge 7/7, 'cos I was away or had no time.
Thought I finish my pledge anyway.

tuzz: thanks! after hours of painting i didn't notice that after lighting-effects the shadows on the shirt went away ;) well... they were there ;) i won't change this sketch - but will be careful in my further art-works. thanks!

kaylon: yeeeeeehhh! belt buckle rules! ;) but i'm proud about fast tree-textures... what do you think about it?

artifex() : isn't that a kind of photo editing?

LagPRO: great style! so simple and i like it!

Aedihum: i can't believe it took you only 2 hours?!

No photos were used whatsoever, except for a reference of the SUV, which looked nothing like what I actually painted. I was going for rough photorealism, however.
