View Full Version : Particles for fluid flow.
gunner13 08-26-2005, 02:15 AM I am quite new to MAYA Dynamics. I am trying to animate a portion of toothpaste being squeezed out into a test tube. Should I use particles to do this? If yes, can u advise how do I go about doing this?

I think you would be better off hand animating it with blendshapes/lattice.

Lattice for sure. Or model a string of toothpaste, rig it with spline IK and tweak it via clusters/blendshapes for any subtle compression you need in the animation.

Creat a curve in the shape you want it to squeeze out into, attach PFX "tube grey" located in "glass" to curve, change color and transparancy, then animate min or max clip on the PFX. Wallaa!
