Guys, this is not a private film. It will be shown in lots of churches. It will be entered in film festivals. And I'm going to try to have it in theaters. This film will be so big that every christian denomination will want to see it. No one has ever done a Documentary on Ellen White like this before. Even if your not religious, this film will be a giant boost to your resume's. People will want to hire someone who had previous expiriance on a giant film. And unlike my last project, I've got lots of people helping me with it. Even if your not going to help, please say something about this thread.

Matt, it is nice that you have found a new project, and have learned some things from your last collaboration. I am not trying to be mean here, but i think you will have a hard time finding people now that your last project has failed, without showing us that you are serious about this and have some material to show us.

Also, could you place some information here about this Ellen G. White, to be honest, i don't know here. Now i googled her, but a lot of people won't go google it for you, they want the information right here right now to know if it is a project for them. Maybe a couple of lines about what her prophecy is about, and why it is important. So please, give us more information, show us some more material to show that you are really serious and won't quit this project after a month.

Sure thing. I understand why people are a little afraid. Ok, Ellen G. White lived in the 1800's. When she was little she started to have visions of God, and Heaven. As time passed the visions became more in detail and she started to write them in books. She saw many visions, most or all of which were about right now in our generation. The interesting thing is she had only a third grade education. She was also tested while in vision, and sure enough, she passed. She wouldn't breath at all while in vision. Sometimes she was in vision 2 hours and people would be amazed that she wasn't breathing. But that's not the weird part, her heart would still be beating normally while she didn't breath. The arguing party says that she had a head injury and that she was actually in epileptic shock. They say that the sources are not reliable. But they also have their own unreliable sources that say she predicted Jesus's return. But no where is there any information that even supports slightly the idea that she predicted the date of the end of time. The point of the film is to compare both sides and see who is right. The film will interview doctors, pastors, historians and etc. This film is well researched and here at my home, I have alot of people behind me.

Is that enough info that you wanted me to write or is this not enough?

Hum this sounds like a pretty delicate and interesting matter.

Personally, I'd like to know more about the conclusions that this film would draw before I'd want to work on it. And I think that I'm not the only one who would want to know more about that.
Now I would perfectly understand if you don't want to just throw this on a public board, but maybe you could think about some way to inform interested people about this.

The film will be approached from both sides, as to give each side equal interest. What exactly do you mean by conclusions? This is a very delecate film, and is being studied very hard.

Well you say 'and see who is right', which means drawing conclusions from observations.
With delicate matters as these, it's extremely hard to make a totally objective conclusion. So I think that participants of the project would like to know where it's heading to when it comes to conclusions on beforehand.

Oh and by the way, you say 'I have a lot of people behind me', so what does the team look like at the moment?

I'm still trying to understand, are you asking who I think is right or wrong. Or are you asking which side in the film will be potrayed beforehand as correct? The team at the very second is my entire family. Next week at my church I will be organizing an entire group to start the research.

What I was asking is that you might want to consider telling interested people about the conclusions which will be made in the film. This of course doesn't need to be from the start on, but it can come in the end. But you will want to make some sort of a conclusion somewhere isn't it?

Will there be people from outside your church researching this matter too by the way? (I mean in collaboration with this project of course)

I understand what your saying now. The conclusions will be "Is she a false or inspired prophet?", "Did she copy other people's work?", "Did all of her prophecies come true?", "Was she Epileptic?" The film will be designed so that the arguers questions are said and than the defence comes after. In this way it captures the audiance with mind boggling questions.

And yes their will be people outside the church researching this project as well.

1.We bring out EllenWhite.org's question.
2.We bring out ellenwhite.com's defence
3.We consult proffesionals.
4.We perform tests to see for ourselves.
5.We come up with an answer.

This isn't that big on CG. And the CG doesn't have to look photo realistic. All I need is CG for demonstrating events and scenario's. Like I said, it doesn't have to be really good looking CG. I don't care if it's average looking CG, just as long as it looks acceptable.

What is it about this project that scares you people? Are you scared that it will end up like the other? WON'T HAPPEN! This time I know what to do and when to do it. Just please tell me why you people are scared to take this project?!

(I just typed in a long message and timed out so it didn't post. man, that's frustrating. so let me try again...)

Just looking at this from an objective standpoint (since my knowledge of CG is limited at the moment) I can understand your frustration but I think you need to give it more time before you assume people are scared to join.

Since it sounds like the film isn't totally dependent on CG, it would probably help to post any video you've shot of interviews, or a script (at least a fairly detailed outline) of the film. If you don't have anything like that yet, maybe wait until you have some samples and then post it and ask for help. If people can see something that shows the investment you've made yourself in the project I would bet they'd be more likely to join.

Also, for the last 3 items you mentioned, they can conceivably be answered through research. But whether she was an inspired prophet or not is something you will not be able to "prove". So if you draw a conclusion about that then the film becomes more of an opinion piece rather than an objective documentary. Which is fine, but I would guess that most people would not want to contribute to a film that states a conclusion about opinions/beliefs before they know if it does or doesn't agree with their own (which is what I think Pjanssen was getting at). I would suggest the option of answering as many of the factual questions as you can, and then letting the viewer decide if she was inspired or not.

I think this is an interesting project and I can help out with ideas/feedback on developing a script/timeline if its not already done, but that's about all I can contribute at the moment. Good luck.

Thanks very much, i've already got 3 CG Animators on the team. I would love to heave you on the team to. And yes you can prove if she was inspired or not. But the plan of the film is to leave it open for the audiance to decide whether or not.

The project is making alot of head way. A model of Earth is almost finished, and a model of the golden gate bridge, Jupitor, and Saturn are being modeled.

I'm attatching a render image of the model Earth.

company.

"tremdous" , "giant project" .... well what's so great? All i can see it's a 20 min earth model and some other few stuff. Matt...again you are giving too little info (comparing to what you say you have). So ppl should belive you when you are saying those things about the project? You have to show us what it's "tremdous" not just say so.

I don't think you understand how much controversy there is between ex-adventists and Adventists. I understand that you guys are a little doubtfull from my last project. But this time I actually did my homework. Production will start at the end of this October. The film is expected to run from 3 to 2 hours long. The major part of the film is live-action. Only 30% of the film will be CG.

This will be a very controversial project.

UPDATE: SoonerFan has just finished another great song for the film.

I think what i really wish to see first is that you already done your most important homework, which is making a paper about your story, your research so far and the conclusion. I even urge you to write a novel first (like Da Vinci Code kind of book) before jumping into movie making decision because that's the best way to learn storytelling.
I know this film is about FACT, but even fact has to be told in a way that make others understand even excited. That of course if you want this to be something BIG.
I admire your anthusiasm tough. But until you DO your homework, i may not be able to help you. ;)

The last project was going to be 80% CG. This one is only 30%.

The below is an overview of what my studies are showing........

1. I have found that Ex Adventists have repeatedly miss quoted Miss White and taken her out of context. They have left out valuable info and made Seventh-Day adventists to look like a cult.

2. I have found that Seventh-Day adventistis do not defend Ellen White well, but the info they do give is correct.

3. On a perticular prophecy that ellen white made, there has been alot of controversy over it. I have found that both sides are wrong about it and that I have the only logical theory of it.

4. Ex Adventists have made some pretty stupid comments and have proven they did NO research on the time period that Ellen White lived in.

5. Only 3 of the 100 arguments ex adventists have made are substatial.

6. Ex adventists resources are not reliable and have many flaw's.

That's just a little of what my research is showing up.

My conclusions have brought me to the idea that most of Ex adventists are wrong in their studies, but not all of them.

While seventh day adventists have proven to be 99% correct.

Come on guys, take a chance on me! This project is not going to fall apart, because the expectation is reachable. If all of you would help, there wouldn't be a need for critiscism, because the project would get finished faster than ever. I don't know why you guys just stare at me and say it's not going to work. What about supportave critiscism?! I need it!

I'm maybe a noob when it comes to this forum, but I'm a proffesional when it comes to filming. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THAT!! I'm no dummy when it comes to cameras and computers. I know that both are needed for a film, and that is why I came to you guys.

But instead, you guys shunned me and decided that the project wouldn't work. Without giving me a chance to prove myself.

Instead, I had to go to another CG Forum, that is PRIVATE. I found cg artists who were willing to help with this project and who were willing to take a chance on me.

But I still came back here, day, after day. Hoping that maybe you guys would forget the past and notice how this project is working!

I ask you, please give me a second chance. Don't ignore me, please help me and take a chance on me. I promise that I won't dissapoint you!

So again, I ask, please help me with this project.
