Title: Rose
Name: Tomaz Zagar
Country: Slovenia
Software: 3ds max, Maya
I made this pic becouse i wanted to make high resolution picture for a B1 poster. I used Maya for modeling and max for rendering /brazil .. Textures are scans + a lot of editing in paint shop pro. Backgrond is 3d + photo. Critics and comments are welcome.

great, great work!
the only thing i have to say is that the background looks disconnected maybe because of the size of the blured flowers. i think they look too big, considering they are further. (even though the dof semms to be quite short) i guess that flatens the image a bit.
nice job

only thing i can say adds to titopte's comment about the background and that is that it looks a little to out of focus. But on the rose itself, one of the best roses ive seen yet.

Excellent work on the rose petals. I also like the textures for the leaves. However, It seems to me that the water droplets on the leaves don't do justice to the rest of the work. They seem too flat and lack highlights. And there's also a big red shiny droplet somewhere on the left :).
I'm not too sure what real rose leaves look like but the top leaves are great. They look much more alive compared to the bigger ones at the base. Perhaps a little bit more variance in the curvature of the bottom leaves would help to sell the picture a little more :).
It's still excellent work man :) Thumbs Up.

I like the rose, it is made perfect, but I must say that the border and background make the picture unattractive. I hope you will repair it, because it would be a shame no to.
Big D – you avatar is hilarious :D when I grow up, I will have something like this under my logo :D

If your body weight is over 100 kg you can have one already. Taking into account the incredible interest, I'm actually thinking of starting to sell the customized avatars for 15 bucks/piece...:deal:
