I was making a night sky for a background and I did the usual: black bg, add noise, play with Levels to get it right. But, when I hit OK in the Levels box, my night sky recerts back to where I started instead of accepting my changes.

Why would this happen. I THINK I ran into a similar problem a while agao, but don't remember the remedy.

well instead of doing a night sky like that.....why don't you look for some pics online for nightime skies or even daytime skies and change those to nightime like a matte painting. If you have any questions on how to go about this just ask i'd love to help. but anyway, because your taking a real sky pic and using that as a BG the whole scene or clip, movie, or image will also look more realistic...

Yeah, nornally I would do that. This wasn't really that big of a deal. It's a small pic in a book.

Still might try to search for a pic to use. Just found it odd the way that was working in PS.

when you had the levels dialogue open, were you working at 100%?...if not the preview it gives isn't accurate.
