Hi Everybody,
My first post and my first WIP
My Idea was to improve my skills in light trechniques but i didn´t only want to draw some balls with light shines on them an cast shadows and all this stuff...
So that´s the result of my "experiment"... Not really a light study but also interesting :)
Feel free to post comments and suggestions on how I should change things etc.

By the way: I use painter 9 for my study... Standard brushes

First step was simply creating some kind of body on what light can reflect on. I had nothing special on my mind.

Step 2 - I gave some colors to my elephantish ...thing :D Also some horns grew out of his head... wonder in what way the painting will develop

Step 3 - Yup, a background was needed. Painter is really great in doing bgs: Some oilbrush and a pallette knife - voilá! ...Actually I´m not happy with it :D But it will do it for now. Additionally I added some kind of fur (in fact I wanted to create some muscles but ...nevermind)

Step 4 - Yes look at the head.It morphed! And much better now... I missed to take some screenshots for the steps between step 3 and 4 - Im soooo sorry!
I try to improve my skills on light so I let away the brighter colors on the head. They will be added later (If I made my mind up how I get a more realistic way to draw light. Anyone got some good tutorial(s)?

Step 5 - Will come soon (as soon as I have got time... But certainly in the next 2-3 days!
Im really looking forward for your comments!

Post as much as you can! :-) hehe

See ya!

hi again!
@Hexaditidom: (member.php?u=159622)
Before thinking about another "hybrid"-animal I first have to finish this one. Hope
it will turn out nice... Then maybe some more hybrids...
Or something technical.
Hopefully i will be able to submit more pics this afternoon!

See ya

Step - 5 (as promissed in the afternoon! :) )

Now I added a light source that comes from the sky... I forgot to add the sun! Aw. Maybe in step 6. A 2nd source light should improve the 3d look.
Also I added some details on the skin im trying to gradually texture the skin (lots of point and klick work :D)
Any ideas for the background? First I thought mountains would be great, but they don´t fit to the image...
