i seem to remember a couple years ago i made an engery wave in photoshop with relative ease, and it looked pretty good too. what i remember doing was making a straight line across the canvas, then going to filter-> wave and tweaking the settings, and best of all, it wrapped around, so each side matched up, making the wave essentially tilable. but now, using CS2, the wave filter seems to have changed. i can no longer get it to wrap around, and the wave is stupidly simple as well. i used to be able to get a kind of "noise" to it, but now it pretty much only does a smooth wave. the image below is actually real electricity (i think) but it should illustrate what i mean.

Hmmmm. I am on CS1. The wave dialogue looks complicated enough and I can get something that looks like what you have shown. Does your look like what I have attached?

yes, it appears to be the same dialogue.

cant think what the problem would be. For me it seems almost too easy to get a wildly variable wave. Have you tried on lower rez files? Somtimes that kinda thing helps.
