Hi
u have seen the movie matrix, im sure
and must have noticed the vertical lines that appear on the seen whn the camera moves in and out of the TV videos(very nice effect). i want to make that kindofa transition for my little home project, help me do it plz

How long have you been using After effect ? Not so long as it seems^^ But anyway, gotta start sometime or not^^...

If you mean what i think ^^then...
play around with the Mask Options especially One layer masks another -> LUMA Mask for example, play around with connecting layers, and just play and play around... That isnt a big trick.

Here's one starting point: Transitions > Block Dissolve. Set values to for example: width 3, height 800, feather 3. Then animate Completion % from 0 to 100.

Tweak.
