I am an animation student and was wondering how important modeling skills are for an animator. In my program at school I only have one character animation class left (there was only one other class before it. Two classes all together) and many, many modeling, texturing, lighting and compositing class left. Not quite sure what to do... so I thought I would ask the pros!:wise:
Thanks in advance,
Sug

If you're wanting to be an animator just focus on animation. I think that it helps knowing the basics of other areas, but animation takes a lifetime to learn.

To be honest, in my opinion, 2 animation classes are no where near enough. I hope you have life drawing and other art classes too!

There are optional life drawing sessions, but only two drawing classes (insructional). There are no teachers at the sessions.
I am trying to focus on animation as much as possible while trying to pass all my other classes.
I'm also thinking about trying other programs, but holy cow... money, money, money. I'll make it just fine, I was just wondering how important those other skills are.
Thanks for the reply:thumbsup:
